Ladies it is my works christmas do on thu, I will be 4 1/2 weeks po and have a fab dress to wear. Only issue is it’s very low cut, I can either go bra less or wear a wonderbra plunge bra which is underwired? My scars are healing really well but don’t want to jeopardise this. Xx

Could you get a non wired? Or cover your scars with some cotton wool/soft stuff
I can’t see bralass hurting for a few hours either though tbh hun
Let us know what ya do 😀

Underwire is a defo no untill 6 weeks hun, the wire can irritate the scar and cause a small infection which can then spread to the pocket, even if they are closed this can happen untill the scar healed FULLY, plunge/push up are also a no no while your pocket settles as they push the pocket upwards and can leave you will a disorted or shifted result. Braless is also not advised for 6 weeks, we’re told to wear them for 6 weeks for a reason and IMO going against those instructions is a risk, if were then to have complications your aftercare would be void as it would be seen as your own fault. Your options really are to change your outfit to something that will cover the bra (when you’re healed you will have tons of chances to wear fab dresses with no risk!) or if you;re set on it you could get a maternity bra, they are soft, un wired and most importantly very supportive. The choice is yours of course but is really worth risking you result for one night in one dress? x

I agree with Kayedee. I went out in a maternity bra at 4 weeks PO it was supportive and more attractive than sports bra, I wouldn’t risk wired or braless.

Hi Hun .i had my Xmas do last week and I was dying to wear a dress that showed off my cleavage with no bra but I got a body con dress that had a high neckline so could wear a maternity type bra but coz the dress was tight it showed off my new shilloette xxx

Thanks ladies do you know where I can get a nice maternity bra that is plunged? X

I’m not sure if plunge maternity bras are even a thing lol? I could be wrong on that! IT depends on what you mean by plunge, if you mean one thats simply low cut, they would be fine, however a plunge in the proper sense is also designed to push you up and out, this early on that could cause healing issues for you x

Hi sarah ,if u look in my pics I’m wearing a longsdale sports bra and thstbis quite low cut compared to some sports bras and my nurse recommended it ive got a few in different colours and really supportive xx

I had my first post op check with the nurse today and asked her about this, I’ve got a Christmas party on the 18th and I’ll be 18 days post op, I bought 2 bras from primark there called everyday comfort bras and there is no wire in them but it still has the shape and she said i should be fine wearing this as long as I put my sports bra on as soon as i get home, maybe you could try getting one of them? x
