Hi girls I’m not having my operation until 14th February but there’s an offer on the shock absorbers at work so thought I would get one whilst it’s cheaper. I am currently 32AA & getting 275cc moderate plus profile partials & again I don’t really know what cup size this will take me to so any help would be appreciated! Also what back size? Do you go up a back size due to swelling?
hi, its prob best to ask your PC or surgeon, but they generally say 150cc is a cup size! if you get a back size up, i’d get a cup down..ive got a 36e M&S one which fits well but also got 38e which is fine on the back but too big in the cup! but I’m currently wearing the back size i usually am and I’m 1 day post op! hope this helps xx
Macom you can’t go wrong. Just order yr normal back size and the cup adjusts xx I have 1 and feel it’s supportive. Also have the shock absorber run bra. They seem to be big fitting with lots of give. so again iv ordered a size smaller than I will prob measure in normal bras x
Thanks Kirsty, definitely helps. I’m looking at the C cup shock absorbers & they just don’t look like they would be big enough for swollen surgery boobies? But maybe it’s just that I’ve seen so many girls go 400cc+ & mine obviously won’t be that big! It’s so hard xx
Thanks Janet! Will have a look into Macoms. They are expensive but seems they’re worth it xx
I was told to get the same back size and both DD and D. Preop I was 32a/b and I’m now wearing the 32dd and I’ve had 325cc. I’m guessing maybe a C for the swelling but again, best to ask your PC x
Janet – have you got the run bra or the ultimate run?
Lucy – You could always get a C, even if it doesn’t fit straight away it may do after a couple of weeks after the swelling goes down?\
xx
Thank you Sara, hope you’re recovering nicely 🙂
Kirsty I think you’re right! Will get the C and keep my fingers crossed! X
I got this 1 xx http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shock-absorber-run-sports-bra/
Hey huni my mum fitted me up for mine she works debhams as bra fitter and she with the shock abs run bra you need to be fitted up for them so it’s not about cup size it’s goes off width So I’m 34GG/h the SBA run bra I’m in is 36f and I’ve still got loads room in it as they are supper strong and will go up in down with your breast where. Do work if you don’t me asking I’m at sports direct and we sell them on line too xx
I work at house of Fraser. I worry as I really want a sports bra to take to surgery with me but won’t know what size I’m gonna be?! I just want it to be here already I’m so excited!!
No that’s fine chick all 3 of my ops I got my mine post op if get your right width if they fit you up for u will be fine with all your swelling to as they have loads of give n then and if you can get your fist in one cup it’s all good xx
Sorry it’s. The u run bra which. Is the best but say that I’ve never tried the other ones I’ve got a pic of it n my album x
I struggled Lucy, I brought a medium asda one which I love which is really supportive but also a 36e one from asda which is too big in the cup and that size was recommended by the nurse. I also brought 34DD shock absorber but way too small. So disappointed really as only have one bra now. I would say go Macom bra x2 in one back size up then just see once their done as it is so hard as everyone comes up different. Xx
@Hannah1982 yeah its hard as like you said everyone comes up differently! just dont want to buy a shock absorber and waste money if its not right.. think i’ll go with macom as i’ve looked and they mould to your cup size which is pretty amazing! so you just choose your back size! they’re pricey but worth it it seems. xx
Hey huni shock ab sports bra go off width you need to be fitted up for it n debhams as long as got the right back size your sorted my mum said it’s so import to get the back size as sports bra are way bigger than our normal cup size x
Hiya lovely I was a 32B and had 275cc aswell and tbh with the swelling and discomfort I’ve ended up scrapping the original bra I had and I’m currently comfortably in a 34D sports bra as it was digging into my sides the original one! However as I started off as a B perhaps 275cc has taken me up to a DD? Who knows xxxxxx

Hun, your having strapping i waited til after to get it. You have no idea on the size 🙂
Lucy do u know if your having strapping. Or the chest band if your having a chest band you will need one on the day xx
You can request the band if don’t want the strapping you excited for your big day ? Just think it these next few weeks will fly by to your day xx
can you? What would you recommend? i can’t wait now its sooo exciting but feels ages away! x
I bought a shock absorber and bought one too big, purely because it was the only one they had in stock in my back size lol. If been on holiday and only got back 23rd December and was having my ba yesterday (29th) so didn’t have much time to buy one with Christmas planning and then Christmas etc. I was an empty 34b/c before surgery, and had 400cc which should make me around a 34dd/e but my shock absorber is a 34G. Yes it is too big but the bottom fits, and because it’s material cup, it sits nicely. I tried a 34F shock absorber on pre op to get an idea and it seemed like it would be too small. I’m glad I got the bigger size as the back and straps fit perfect for support xxx
