After two children, I was left with very empty saggy breasts measuring at 36b but mainly just skin. I had an uplift with 325cc high profile implants above the muscle on the 12th April with Dr Mahdi at Preston. I was recommended Mr Mahdi by my PC as I was after a more natural look and I trusted his judgement on every consultation. He recommended high profile implants (more pointy rounded shape) as I needed to fullness back at the top of my breasts. He gave me the option of 300cc, 325cc and 350cc. I tried them on and chose the 325cc as the heavier they are the more likely they will sag again quicker due to the weight. They cannot promise sizes but he stated that for every 150cc you approx go up a bra size so I should be left with a 36d-dd, which I was more than happy with. He made sure he saw me twice to double check we were both happy with everything. I couldn’t seem to find anything negative about his work on the forums other than when he told people no and referred them to other surgeons to achieve the look they wanted. Which if anything, that reassured me that he wants to do his best for you. The day before surgery I was the most nervous, more so than the actual day. I had lots of nerves and anxiety which I’m sure stemmed more from the anaesthetic side of things rather than the actual operation as I had built a rapport with Dr Mahdi but not the person actually putting me to sleep. I needed not to worry as the staff caring for me on the day were very calm and the anaesthetist was a consultant with many years experience. My check in time was 10am as there were other people ahead of me on the list but it was quite nice as I could drink until 8am. When I got there I was checked in to my room and a gown and stockings were laid out waiting for me. Dr Mahdi came to draw on me ready for surgery and take the last set of pictures before he went in to the next case. I got to pick from a menu what id like for my dinner in the evening and breakfast the morning after. I went down to theatre at 12ish. The ODP that worked with the anaesthetist walked me down and chatted to me whilst I got hooked up to all the monitoring. The anaesthetist inserted a cannula in my hand with ease then the ODP placed an oxygen mask on my face preparing for the anaesthetic. (The anaesthetic is given down the cannula but they place an oxygen mask on to allow for your oxygen levels to be the highest they can be before they intubate). The next thing I knew I was being woken up by them helping me put on my surgical bra and getting wheeled out of recovery. I was very nauseous following surgery for a good 10hrs after but this is quite normal for me as I have been the same in the past. Not a serious issue, it’s just annoying. In terms of pain, I wasnt really in very much due to the implants being in front of my muscle so the trauma was mainly superficial. I only had pain relief in the morning when I had my breakfast in preparation for the journey home. I got sent home with paracetamol, codiene, ibuprofen and a 7 day course of co-amoxiclav. The ibuprofen worked best for me as my pain was mainly swelling related. I’ll upload the pictures in order if I can.

This was the morning after when I was having my drains removed. It was an unpleasant feeling like a worm moving in my chest when they were being taken out but I had no pain with them in.

week 4. A low point week. Still in love with my boobs but suffering from painful itchy dry skin with I used bio oil for. It worked a treat but then developed lots of small spots. From reading the forum these can be quite common but not a pleasant sight. Also made worse by an out of the blue bad reaction to the tape leaving me with ripped skin and stitch falling off with my scab leaving behind a raw area. I’m sharing these in a hope that it provides a reassurance that recovery has ups and downs and it’s a normal process.

Hi Jayne, hope your appointment goes well in June. @Bailey64 and @Hayley thank you, I’m so glad I did it. It is worth every penny. I hope both of you will be as happy with your results. Your operations will go smoothly I’m sure. I was in and out before I knew it. xx

Hi they look great, I’ve been in today to see the surgeon regarding uplift and implant. I’ve been told that they may sag again due to my poor muscle/skin tone, is this something you was also told? X

    Menu

Aww, love your results!! We have similar before pics, this reassured me that I want this procedure to be done too!!! X

@Rachel No he didn’t mention about my muscle/skin tone. He did say that all will eventually sag with nature but not by much. However that the larger implants the quicker they’ll sag. @Beata it’s the best decision ever. x

I needed to read this today. I had an uplift only on the 13/05/2019 so now 3 days until week 3. Been back to work 3 and am quite sore by the evening. I am pleased with the results so far but seeing your recover photos and the similar looking scars have given me hope. You must be so pleased with your results Diane. Thanks for sharing

Hope your pain has resolved @Clare. Still getting the odd burning sensation on the incision under my right boob. There’s a stitch that’s being a bit stubborn to dissolve and thats what’s causing the discomfort. Especially with the warm weather. Going to speak to the nurse next week about it. Other than that my scars are looking so good already xx

Hi @JAQ, I found the journey home fine tbh. I think I slept some of it. I’m an hour and a half away from Preston and mainly motorway. Maybe it’s more uncomfortable if you have under the muscle but I was ok. xx

    Hi Diane,
Glad everything seems to be going well with you. Hopefully your stitches are not giving you problems anymore. Right is taking longer to heal so still now showering and nearly week 4. It’s worth it and found everyone at MYA have been great.

Not being in a normal routine is the hardest, I’m sure the right one will catch up soon. I’m glad that you’ve found it worth it too. I certainly have. Just need my final sign off with Dr Mahdi on 18th July then it’s all done. xx

So on the 7th of June out of nowhere, one minute I was fine and healing well then minutes later I had blood in my bra and a hole of about 5mm like an ulcer on my scar. I instantly panicked thinking all sorts of things. Mya nurses were really good and advised me to send them some pictures in to see. The emails were not sending for some reason so they opened up an appointment first thing the following morning for me to be seen. They told me it was likely that I had just spat a stitch (when the stitches don’t dissolve they rise to the surface and come out in a spot/scab. I didn’t think this was the case at first as I had no redness or swelling in the area to suggest this was happening and no stitch to see. It came out of nowhere in a matter of minutes). As the day went on before my appointment I realised they were right. I dressed the open wound with the only plaster I had which was a bad move as I had another reaction to it and ripped my skin off taking it off at the appointment. **its worth stocking up on dressings that you know you’re ok with for situations like this**. When I got to the appointment, the nurse reassured me that it was just a stitch that as come out. She gave me better dressings and told me to keep it dry for a week. I changed the dressings after two days as instructed and it was forming a small scab and healing nicely (Drama over ?). I thought I’d share this with you all as it’s useful to know. By this point I was 8 weeks post OP. Here are some pictures of this and now as I’m beginning to heal again. x

Hi Rachelle, I think it all depends on the surgeon. The problem with having an uplift with a reduction then putting implants in is that they are likely to sag again. Is it the first consultation with a Patient coordinator? They will go through what you want and recommend the best surgeon to fit your wishes as some might do this and some might not. It depends on how big you’re wanting to go. xx

Hi Diane, I don’t think I’ve read a story on here that has been so similar to mine! I had an allergic reaction to the glue as well and had a small hole where it had opened up and spat a stitch out! Glad to know I’m not the only one!!
The forum will never let me upload photos but i’ll give it a go xx

I will be seeing Mr Mashadi in Fitzroy London on Monday as my patient coordinator – Hannah -believes that he is the best surgeon for the implants and lift for me. I have a similar starting point as you Diane, so your photos are inspiring! Am looking forward to getting my saggy boobs, sorted!

@Victoria I completely understand as my fear was the anaesthetic as I’m a health worker myself. I watch people have anaesthetics all the time at work and I never bat an eyelid. I really shouldn’t have given it a second thought as the one I had was clearly very good at his job and I felt so at ease. They are all very senior, most likely consultants and they do this every day. Thank you Clair xx

Hi Dianne, thank you so much for your posts, I’m also looking at Dr Mahdi at Preston and this is all really useful. Yours look amazing! What size are you wearing now you’re all healed? I’m similar to you to start with and hoping for a 34 C/D thinking that will be achieved with 300cc over? Also bit random but do you still have sensation in your nipples? Thanks again! X
