Upper back pain

Hello everyone,

I am 3 days post op with 265cc unders. Recovery has been horrendous tbh. It really isn’t so much the breasts that hurt but it’s my upper back on the right side, between shoulder blades. It’s unbearable, I’m crying all the time. Is it possible that surgery has torn a muscle in my back? As that is what is feels like. I’ve been trying to find other people with similar pain but I can’t find anything.
I’m so so upset by it.
Anyone else have/had anything similar?

Have you tried to contact your nurse for reassurance?

They have said it’s all muscles and nerves moving about, but honestly I feel like my back is breaking 🙁

I can totally relate to this, my back is horrendous causing me to wake after 3 hours sleep so I’m getting up at midnight every night and staying up for 3 hours then going back to bed for 3 hours. I’m shattered x

It’s common to experience pain around your shoulder blades after surgery. It should ease in time. Regular painkillers should help.

Yeah mine is like I’ve torn a muscle in between my shoulder blades, but it’s so sharp and and burns. Horrible 🙁
How many days post op are you Kimberly? Is yours the upper back also?

All sounds normal to me I had ridiculous back ache and shoulder pain I had my husband giving me a massage all the time. It’s the hunching without realising, constantly being in a bra and awkward sleeping. It does go! the pain was the worst part of getting my boobs done

The problem is that I woke up from surgery like this so it makes me wonder what happened?!

It’s also not really an ache, it’s sharp and nerve pain like, like a knife. Is that what you had?

I’m 10 days PO now and I’m not getting any relief from it 🙁
