Hey.. So.. A few days ago I wrote saying that one of my incisions was looking infected.
Well I think I know why.. Tonight i noticed a little white thing in the corner where the infection seems to be.. I poked it.. And out followed a stitch.
It looks like my body has been trying to push the stitch out.
I have taken a photo and uploaded it for anyone who can give me some advice on what to do with it now!
I am over 4 weeks post op and I thought they’d have dissolved by now anyway.
Any advice would be much appreciated ! Thank you xx
Hey Hun wot colour was the fluid coming from it ? Was smelly xx
Only the Smallest amount of like clear / yellow. Not smelly. Don’t know what’s going on at all but was shocked when I had about an inch worth of stitch hanging out! 🙁 xxx
See the nurse ASAP infected or not stitch has come lose and body doesn’t seen to be working with them :/ but tonight I would put a dressing if you have any or steri strips or even just plasters on and clean lightly with warm water but yeah ring the nurse tomorrow xx
I didn’t have the stitch problem but I have some pics of what I thought was infection it was watery yellow stuff but turns out was not a worry if it puts u at ease till u see nurse 🙂
Hey huni I had that kind of fuid my nurse thought it was an infected she took a swab and sent off to the labs and come bk clear I was told it was my body’s way of healing it’s self x
I would contact your nurse just to be sure but if there isn’t a noticeable hole I think you’re ok. I would have thought that by 4 days post op they would have dissolved so maybe you just had 1 stubborn stitch. x
I still had a couple of stitches pop out last week and I’m 3 month post op x
Hi Natasha

Stitches coming out aren’t a major issue, I have had eight trimmed at three months post op, and still have more coming out. If the watery liquid smells or has a nasty yellow look its cause to concern, most other is your own body healing and setting around the new additions. Listen to your body, and if you feel worried, pop into your local clinic and see the nurse xx
Thanks for all the advice 🙂
I went to Birmingham clinic today.. Then nurse trimmed the stitch, cleaned it up, and put a dressing on.
Already feels like swelling has gone down massively, so hopefully all is sorted!!
Thanks again, always come here for advice straight away as I know there are so many people able to help 🙂 xxx
