So I’m just back from vaser at Fenchurch street!! The first day they’ve offered the service.
I had it under sedation and I have to say it was great! Abs, saddlebags, Love handles in 2 hours.
The anaesthetist Dr Rooney was really lovely and I had a great 2 hour chat (felt like 45mins) with him during it. Didn’t feel much pain and when I did he gave me a little dose more which worked in a few minutes. The areas worked on are pumped with saline and anaesthetic so it is fairly numb, but as you get closer to the muscle it can pinch slightly which is where Dr Rooney comes into play.
Dr Joffily was great – nice and calm. Doesn’t talk a lot and is a quiet type but he had a joke and he made me feel relaxed. The nurse came out and said he was over the moon with the results he could see before the swelling kicked in. So I’m pretty excited to see how things evolve in the coming weeks.
I’m in a garment for 4 weeks. MYA provide you with 2 which is great as I’ll be washing this blood soaked one in 24hours! they also give you a foam wrap to stick under the garment once the swelling goes down to really nip things in.
I’m now home on the couch – my PC brought me home as I’m just down the road from the clinic – Bless her! I’m leaking away but got towels and pads to soak up! 4 days of antibiotics as a precaution and one tray of prescription strength co-codamol and MYA hotline number if I feel I’m in trouble in anyway. It’s 2.5 hours and a couple of the incisions are starting to itch, so the pain isn’t too too bad.
Anyone thinking about doing this – go for it!
Congrats Hun, would love to follow your recovery, hope it’s ok to add you? Happy healing, and goodbye saddlebags! X x x
Thank you! I have wrecked my head thinking about this for the last 5 years and FINALLY went “you know what – I’m doing this, don’t care if I get judged by my mates!”
I took pics yesterday for myself. Will track them. And keep you in the loop!
Also think I might write up a blog page on this. I couldn’t find much on vaser experience so a blow by blow account will help others – I hope. It’s definitely not as daunting as I thought.
😀
Yeah, that would be great, as most stuff on here is boobs. Not much on vaser on here, so would love to know about people’s experience as ive seen a couple of people saying it wasn’t nice, and your story is fab x x x
yeah I found that too – all boobs!
Well I can safely say it wasn’t that bad. But lets see how things go when the local ana in me wears off…
I did get in touch with this girl about post op questions. This was a good comprehensive blog on vaser and was useful.

So I will try and do something like this.
Trying to upload my photos from yesterday but having probs. Will keep trying!
Hey hun, I’m really interested in this, how long is it till u get final results? Is it a set price per area? And does price go down the more areas u have done?
I’d be really interested to see ur results wud it be ok to add u? Xx
hi hun 🙂 congratulations 😉
i just had my vaser done 10 days ago with dr J but at wellbeck clinic but under general. i will add you 🙂
good to hear you are feeling fine 🙂 hope next days will be easy too!
xx
Things are starting to stiffen – the procedure is easy part I reckon! and man the leakage – wow!
Deffo gonna write this all up for people as I had no idea of the amount of blood, ana and saline that has been leaking. I’m just in bed now – pulled down the compression garment to change the padding as its soaked and making the garment damp. ALso I’m sure in bed rolling around I will rupture the incisions that are trying to clot. No drains on me.
Co-codomal and sticking with the Boots over the counter version as that strong stuff makes you feel sick!
Fearing tomorrow but just gotta take each day as it come.
Have to say – WOW! my lower abs which have always been the bane of my life – pancake flat now! and thats with the swelling!
Miss-vi how’s your recovery going? And Dr J – Couldn’t find much on him – but I thought he was excellent and he was very pleased with his work! 🙂
hey Nicola, i will be writing my story today 🙂
cocodomal is quite strong, so if you feel sick, call nurse to change it. most of the pain is quite tolerable (and i am not good with pain at all!). for the last few days i have being taking only paracetamol (done with the course of antibiotics already) before bad. weirdly enough, i feel less stiff when walking around! so my routine is an hour in bed, then 10-15 mins walking around the house, then back in bed 🙂 i can do much more now, even wash my own hair, but it took me 7 days to get to that point!
do you have someone helping you to put on garment on? mine is full body, plus foam! i couldnt put it on myself the first week at all. my bf was doing it all and i was close to fainting ;D but now, my garment is getting too loose! need to get a size smaller i think 🙂 cant wait for the swelling to come down, so i could upload photos 🙂
btw, my leakage stopped during the first day! i stayed in the hospital over the night and it was a great decision. they had a very comphy bed and amazing nurses, which helped me with it all! by the time i got home, i didnt leak at all 😉 saw a nurse one week post op, all scars healed well, except for one on my right elbow, but i think it will get better soon 🙂
i found quite good reviews abt dr J on other websites! so i was comfortable going with him. he wa great all the time – at pre op and on the surgery day. i think he is great 🙂
heal well!
xx
started a blog guys. some of the pics aren’t pretty – but this is surgery and a process!
I will start the pics after 7 days.
But I’ve tried to capture everything, and its a bit blow by blow. But those who are considering it will come away with no surprises!
