Hi Ria
I have just had my surgery, on Friday. Two night stay at Fitzroy. So let me give you all my info…
I had a full tummy tuck, with VASER to my flanks & I believe (if has gone to plan) some small vaser to the top of my abdomen. The reason I could only have a small amount of vaser to my tummy was because of the full tummy tuck I had, because of this big procedure, my surgeon needed to protect vital blood vessels, so if having a tummy tuck they can’t be too aggressive with the vaser. I also had a BA. I had 300cc in one & 325cc in the other, high profile overs, which I adore!
My surgeon was Dr Marcelino. He is fantastic & very realistic as to what can be achieved which is important. I believe I’ll be amazed at my results. On Sunday they looked amazing, I had really shrunk, though it takes time to see full vaser results after swelling. Vaser doesn’t really hurt in my opinion, though that could be because my real hard core pain was from my TT.
I was a very out of shape size 10 to start, as I’d had 3 c-sections plus being 4ft 11″ I don’t carry weight well at all, I looked like a blob! So I was desperate for all my 3 procedures & I plan on further vaser!
The garments you need to wear aren’t too uncomfortable either in fact I found they offered me support/security I still prefer mine kept quite tight. They are a lovely quality too (quite pretty) & are easy to wear under a lose dress or light weight baggy clothing.
So to explain, you’ll have drains if you have vaser, they don’t hurt, they are small tubes (the width of a skinny drinking straw) they will be inside you about 5 cm & then they come out of your body & have bottles on the end. They drain off the fluid & are a good indicator to show you & your nurses if you are losing too much fluid, so you’ll not need to worry because if you had a problem it would be visible from the amount of fluid in your bottles. Drains don’t hurt, they are uncomfortable & when you keep getting up to use the loo you’ll need to take them all with you! I had 4 plus my drip! I found them a bloody pain tbh! But they came out on Sunday & I felt much more comfortable. Taking them out was stressful in that your a bit sore & it’s like pulling off a band aid plus the tubes though I’ll be honest by the time you’ve shouted “Jesus Christ” it’s over with! Your nurse or surgeon will dress them, I was lucky as Dr Marcelino did mine & you won’t have stitches because the little holes will gradually close up by themselves. It’s not really painful, more uncomfortable & don’t forget you’ll be on strong pain relief anyway!
In the night I find the vaser sites get a bit itchy, though that’s a good thing as it means healing is moving in the right direction. I’m not too mobile right now. When I’m at my next stage I can show you some after pics but right now I can’t remove my garment in anyway due to TT.
I would recommend vaser & Dr Marcelino & also MYA! My nurses couldn’t have done more for me. I had a hard recovery as everything they gave me made me sick, even the anti sickness & despite all of this my team were constantly patient & really kind! I believe my vaser has worked just from how things look! I’ll be having more for sure!
I’d say if you’re reasonably happy with your current weight then vaser can most definitely speed you along to looking fab! I’d lost 16lbs since New Year’s Eve my aim is to get back to 8stone. Vaser will help with your weight loss purely because its removal of fat but to get results you’ll be happy with you really should be relatively close to where you want to be. I’d choose vaser over traditional lipo too because you’ll remove more fat & less blood, it’s kinder to your body plus procedures improve over the years so I always think best to go with the most up to date! Sorry this reply was lengthy though it’s best to give you all the info! Daisy
