Wearing make-up after surgery?

Did anyone put make-up on after surgery before they went home? I’ve read a few girls saying they might wear abit to surgery.. Didnt think you were aloud?? I know im going to be drowsy but I don’t want to look rough when i go to the hotel lol bit of a weird question i know!!! Let me know girls, much appreciated 🙂 xxx

I got told no makeup before surgery, I’m going to take a big pair of sunglasses and some lipgloss for after, just hope it sunny and not raining haha 🙂 xx

I wore make up there, took it off with a baby wipe and then wore it home 🙂 xxx

And me! As soon as I came round I put some on, with a very wobbly hand! Lol! X

Don’t get why no make up or even just tinted moisturiser?! X

When you go in for surgery, you will be given anesthesia which will make you unable to communicate with the doctor about how you are feeling so they rely on the signs from your body to let them know how you are handling the surgery, so that’s why they say no make up, they need to be able to see your true skin tone. I took my make up off when I got to the hospital, butmdidntbother putting it back on after the op xx

i wiped mine of half n hour before surgery and put it bk on before i went home, ur only in the room after surgery so no one will care if u have makeup on lol and i was in to much pain to care at the time but the next day before i went home i put it on xx

I was in too much pain to give a shit about makeup… you look rough as anyway cos you’ve just had surgery… dont expect to walk out looking glam.. I walking out puking into a sick bowl every 5 mins!

sorry BUT A really insignificant question to ask???? why would you ask if other people wore makeup!? Not being horrible what so ever just trying to make you realise that you should know your own mind (bearing in mind you have agreed/considered life changing surgery!) and how truly unimportant you question Is. If you wanna wear makeup wear it, if you don’t,DON’T !!!!!! Simples!!

I will take all mine off for surgery but I won’t go anywhere without my brows! Haha so my friend will be there to draw them back on for me when I come round and gloss me for the journey home 🙂 xxx good luck with your op! X

Apologies, like I said I wasn’t being horrible at all, I’m not like that whatsoever! it was more of a ‘of all the things to be worried about your asking about make up’ . It wasn’t meant to be harsh and isn’t uncalled for. Perhaps it just reads that way . But yes its nothing to do with me x

U do whatever u want Hun,I’ve already said my make up will be going bk on at least foundation n blusher anyway,but well see how much pain I’m in 🙂 xxx

i got told no make up i wont care after having them done but will wear it there everyone is diff whatever suits u and whateva makes u feel happy xxx

i put a fresh face on 1/2 hour before I was took to surgery including lippy (mainly to keep myself occupied). No-one complained about it.

Why would you want to put make on? After surgery hello wake up !! Just be natural go home and rest

Wouldn’t worry about it mel everyone to there own I won’t be leaving the hospital without some make up on that’s for sure xxx

Did not mean to offend just think you might be exhausted after op but it up to you and yes you can put make up !

No offence to you @mel but Lisa some people don’t feel confident without make up and it’s a big deal for them. Who are you to judge what is a big deal for one person. If u are going to make people feel shit don’t comment. The aim of the forum is definitely not to belittle people!
