What did everyone tell work??

Hi ladies, when you had your surgery, what did you tell your workplace? Did you take it as sick or as holiday? I’m not willing to tell them I’m having a BA so what should I do?x

Hi love, I took a weeks holiday but had to take a couple of days sick too as I wasn’t ready to come back. I told a few people at work but no one else as it was nobodies business. I have a desk job so didn’t need to come back to light duties but I do have to go out and attend client meetings so I had to tell my manager as Mya recommend no driving for 2 wks xx

I told my work today as my surgery is in 8weeks I told
My manager I was having it done at the beginning of my two weeks holiday & when I go back to work I will need light dutys for a few weeks but I’m a carer on a dementia unit so I need light dutys xx

I’m admin so I also have a desk job but my duties include things like filing heavy files too. I don’t want to tell my boss (a male) that I am having it done but I don’t want to waste a weeks holiday if I can get it as sick ??

I didn’t want to tell my bosses the reason I was going to be off cos they’re both men so was a bit embarrassed so I made light of the situation by saying I was having an operation and when I came back I’d like to be called Martin! It made them laugh and they didn’t ask anything else. Not sure if they may have guessed but pretty sure they’ll notice my new boobies when I go back next week. Lol. ? One of my colleagues did say though that I should really tell them I was having a general anaesthetic just in case I fainted or something after I am back in work cos they would need to let any paramedic know xx

@hannahwareham hi Hannah I also have this dilemma, I have an office job so no issues on that front but I don’t want to tell them and was thinking of saying my mum/sister/boyfriend is having an operation so I need to look after them ?? I’m not going massive and always wear chicken fillets at the minute (embarrassing) so it’s not like they’re gonna be able to tell as soon as I go back. I’ve booked a week and a half, would have full 2 weeks if I could but not got enough holidays left. I guess you could phone in sick but u would need to think of an illness that would keep you off for like 2 weeks haha x
