What do I need to know?

Hello, I need some guidance; I am looking into getting Breast Implants.
I’m a size 10 with size A-B boobs (I’m not sure what my size is because I swear 34B extra padded bras).
I know I’m unhappy with my natural boobs because I don’t feel feminine. I could never go out without my extra padded bras and even my bikinis are padded! I don’t look in the mirror and feel sexy because of my boobs.
However, I have a thousand questions which I’m sure a consultant would answer but wouldn’t mind personal experiences to go off as well.
How do you know what size to go for?
Is surgery in the UK or aboard?
Is the pain really that bad?
How do you know whether to have unders or overs?
Can you fly on a plane? (Pressure etc, sounds daft but genuine concern)
Is Bra shopping easier?
Do you feel more confident?
Does it effect breast feeding?
Do you have to have surgery again 10 years later?

I haven’t had my surgery yet but feel I can answer your questions as I asked a few of the same!

Your surgeon will recommend what sizes you can go for based on your own current measurements. You will then try on sizers in a bra to see which size you prefer
If you go with MYA or any UK company, it will be in the UK
Pain varies from person to person but there is more pain with unders than overs
This depends on how much breast tissue you have already or whether or not you’re very active in the gym and flex your pectoral muscles often
You can fly 2 weeks after your flight if it’s short haul, I believe it’s a slightly longer wait for long haul
Can’r comment yet as I haven’t had mine done yet! 2 weeks to go…

I’ve been told by my surgeon that this can’t be predicted but it shouldn’t affect breastfeeding no.
This isn’t the case anymore with modern surgery and modern implants but if you have children and breastfeed after, or gain/ lose a significant amount of weight, and also if your boobs/ skin sag due to ageing, you most probably will want them redone at some point

All of these questions would be answered in detail at your consultation but Maya’s spot on with the answers. The pain really depends on your threshold, how big your going, how much tissue you have etc. But even if you find it really painful like me, it’s still only a week or so its 100% worth it. As for confidence I can’t even explain how much it’s changed for me, i was literally flat, couldnt even make a cleavage with an ultra push up bra so now being able to wear whatever i like, bras, bikinis, sexy lingerie for my man, I literally just feel amazing everytime i look at them and I’m gutted I didn’t do it sooner as i spent so many years soo self conscious and upset about them! xx

Hi. The surgeon is the best person to talk to as he will discuss what size he thinks is medically possible and discuss Unders and overs etc to give you the look you are after . They also prefer you to tell them the look you are wanting rather than size as implants don’t nesseserally work in cup sizes . There could be 3 ladies with the same dress size and have the same size implant put in and both end up a different cup size as an end result . They say roughly 150ccs is a cup size . Some people go abroad but you can also have it down in the uk . If you go with Mya they are based in the uk and have many clinics / hospitals so you can see which is closest to where you live . I’d you have them places under the muscle you can still breast feed . I was told I could go in a plane after 6 weeks and that’s when you can do a bit more strenuous exercise and when they should have settled better so that you can stop wearing your surgery bra. I felt sore and aches rather than pain as such but everyone copes differently it really wasn’t as bad as I thought though. They worse for me was having to sleep sat up for the first 2 weeks and I got bad back ache .. you will be on pain medication and antibiotics and go for regular checks with your surgeon after to check everything’s healing nicely . I wrote a list of questions to ask surgeon when I went for my consultation . It was a huge confidence thing for me and wouldn’t even let my husnamd see my chest I now have so much more confidence and so happy with the results so glad I did it x

Just go to a consultation and talk with the Surgeon. Prepare and maybe bring pictures of what look you want to achieve(wish boobs) but also consider what medically is possible according to what your surgeon will say. Ask ANY questions you have to the doctor dont be afraid of any little silly thing 😉
Also write everything you think of down then bring it in the office the day of consultation.

Surgery in UK please, I would suggest UK 100%, is important and much less risky.

Depending the implant, the size, the profile, the surgery way, the surgeon, the ‘how good of a candidate you are’, the pre-op health of patient, and a bunch of more factors.. implants can last from a year up to 20+ years. Average nowadays is 15 years lasting. But some ladies have issues or complications very early and some almost never. It’s a lot of factors that play role.
