I had my op yesterday at Preston and was absolutely terrified and there was no reason to be at all honestly, I was shaking all over the thought of having the needle but they are so good at what they do it wasn’t painful! It was more uncomfortable when it was in and I was waiting for surgery but it still wasn’t bad, the staff at Preston are all amazing they really do look after you! So when you go in you’ll be taken to your room and they’ll ask you to put your gown and paper knickers on and stockings and you have to pee in a cup for a pregnancy test, then you go over everything with a nurse then see a doctor and then your anaesthetist and then your surgeon to mark you up, then you walk to theatre and they put the fluids in to put you to sleep (i was terrified for this part before I had it done) honestly it was actually nice getting put to sleep and you don’t even have time to think about it it’s great haha the nurse was waking me up and I was like no!! Was such a good sleep, I never had an op before either and even though I had general anaesthetic i felt amazing! Pain only started kicking in about 6 hours after surgery but I had some painkillers and they really helped. I was in there for 12 hours total as my heart rate was too fast to let me go so I had a drip and had to drink plenty of water but it was such an amazing day xxx
