What was your recovery like?

Hi,

So I had my op this morning and was in a LOT of pain at first, I’m now in less pain but it’s still painful to walk around or sit upright, I’m the most comfortable when sat down leaning back slightly.

How long until your pain went away?

Did you need stronger pain meds?

Will it hurt more for me tomorrow or later on? Can’t take much more ?

How long until you could lift your arms above your head or just move around properly?

How long until you could drive?

How long until you could touch your boobs painlessly?

Pain was probably totally gone at 2 weeks post op – was only twinges from about day 10.

I only had paracetamol and took my last dose at 9am on day 3

I found the pain worse on day 2/3 (doesn’t necessarily mean your pain will get worse – I don’t want to scare you lol)

I went for a walk on my own on day 5 – about 4 miles in total probably but obviously took it easy whilst walking.

Drove on day 10 (I think)

The skin felt really tender for about 2 weeks – like sunburn. So I didn’t really touch them that much but started applying oil/cream from about 2 weeks when I could bear to touch them.

I had overs though and I know it’s much harder with unders.

I had overs done and by day 3 I was ready to carry on as normal, I think it all depends on how you feel and what rate your body heals at! Best thing is to rest but carry on as normal but at a slightly slower pace 🙂 my surgeon said to me I’d be find by day 3 and I honestly was! After coming out of surgery I doubted him but he was right lol. Good luck xx

I had 480 uhp unders yesterday and feel absolutely fine today. Pain under my boobs where the incisions are and a bit tender and hard. I went to IKEA today and walked around as usual. I’m relaxing for the next few days though! I must just recover mega well! Xxx

I couldn’t drive until about 4 weeks post op.. It just absolutely pulled like mad and if you can get lifts then I’d definitely use them! You wouldn’t want to do any harm ? Putting my arms above my head was about 4 weeks post op like driving. I got given paracetamol and iburofen and I took the parcetomal every 4 hours and iburofen every 8 hours (I think) .. Then started to ease them off as the iburofen made me constipated ??? xx

Hi i had unders 2 weeks ago.

My pain went away about day 10 i still get odd twinge in my left one but that was my slightly bigger breast.
I could raise my hands above my head from the morning after my op as the surgeon said it wont effect it.
I came off pain meds on day 4 i was only taking ibroprofen at meal times.
I drove on day 13 was a bit stiff turning steering wheel cause my left breast but wasnt too bad.
My boobs are still a little bit sore when touching them but iv been putting bio oil on from day 3 just rubbing it gently.

Everyone reacts differently to pain so dont worry everyday it will ease off from day 4.

Hi I had dual done on 6th August so I’m day 3 today. Pain feels better than yesterday but still in pain meds. Maybe I’m a wimp!
Can’t really lift arms up above my chest so getting dressed is quite difficult but I was up and about yesterday trying to be busy to distract myself, just at a very slow pace!
I’m hoping today will be easier but as I’ve been awake for about 3 hours now tiredness may kick in!!!
