What's the thumbs up and thumbs down all about ? I'm so confused x

Aha I have zero idea what they mean lol x

I’m guessing it’s rating whether you like or agree with someone’s post or not, a bit like Facebook but with a dislike button? However I have no idea what the green number and arrow means next to all our profile pictures, it’s an achievement of some sort but that’s all I can gather
