    Hey girls,

Just wondering when you all were told you could sleep flat on your back? I’m 2 weeks post op now and in no pain anymore, the only thing still driving me crazy is waking up throughout the night with a sore back and bum from sleeping propped up and I’m so tired during the day because of it!

Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thank you xx

If your body feels ready it’s two weeks that you can start laying down. That’s what the paper work from mya says xx

I rang the nurse and asked this question she said after 2 weeks as I felt the same as you , but to be honest I didn’t feel comfortable laying down so I slept still slightly poped up x

Oh im in the same boat! I’m two weeks post op exactly and I’m also getting fed up sitting upright in bed. Last night was so uncomfortable! I’m going to try and sleep a bit more flatter tonight and see if that is any better!! Xx

You’re allowed to drive a week after but I wouldn’t have felt comfortable at 7 days, think if you just listen to your body & drive when you’ve got enough mobility in your arms etc, and can push and pull things. I feel comfortable driving now at 2 weeks X

Whenever im opening bottle tops or opening doors it feels uncomfortable still so I may leave it a few more days. The nurse said at one week that I can get a bath at 2 weeks post op. But I canthink remember if she said if I could get my incisions wet. Anyone know? Xx

At my nurses appointment she said not to have a bath because you shouldn’t let your incisions soak in water but you can have a shower xx

I’m feel the same! I’m two weeks post op Thursday I’m fed up of not being able to lye down, I don’t think it helps that I sleep in my chest! I’ve not had a decent night sleep since the opp! Can’t wait to fully lye down! Xxx

You can shower and get incisions wet coz its clean running water. The reason you can’t bath is coz its ‘dirty’ water your sitting in and can cause infection my nurse said. That’s why it’s a long 6 week wait. I literally only had a bath too lol so had to order a shower head from eBay xx

My nurse straight after the op said it was okay to lie flat back straight away, but he said people generally lie propped up as it can be more comfortable and also easier to get up out of bed! Maybe check with your PC but I have laid flat on back ocasionally and has been fine xxx
