I just had my op yesterday and was wondering when pain will start to subside. I have a birthday and hen do in 3-4 weeks time and a wedding in 2 months. I just want to know whether I will be in good shape to attend these events. Thank you!

I’m 13 days post op and it’s still a bit uncomfortable. I get morning boob and take a couple of paracetamol a day. The pain improves a lot from day 4/5 onwards though! Hope this helps x

I’m on day 4 and I feel so much better. I wouldn’t say 100% at all but looking back from day 1 I’ve improved so much.
I would say 2 weeks will be fine, just don’t over do it with alcohol and dancing (keep arms below shoulders as much as possible) . By 4 weeks my surgeon said I could be doing light exercise at the gym.

I also take ibuprofen because it’s an anti inflammatory and helps me more than the meds I was given by the hospital.

@pollypolly speedy recovery to you too! Ok, I will confirm my attendance and pray that the activities won’t be strenuous! At the moment, my b’day will just consist of dinner and the hen party may actually be at the spa! xx

I honestly think you’ll be fine if it’s just a spar day! Might want to double check with your surgeon if you’re allowed to get that area hot and wet for a longer period of time though.
That’s a question I’ve not asked (I will do Friday though because I have a spa day end of January)

Dont spa at all! You cant lay on your chest for a massage or be in a steam room or sauna at all!! Not before 3-6 months also you cant be in a pool as to not soak the wound in water for a long period of time for at least 1-2 months. I asked my surgeon about all these things and thats why i have time frames for all these activities. Finally I remember I started a thread asking your exact same question when will all this go away? At some point i lost hope that I’ll ever go back to normal but I promise you it gets better, i am now exactly 3wpo and i am feeling waaaaay better, ofcourse still not normal but i can function with no pain, after the third week the morning boob (tight chest) will start to get better day by day. I already feel it getting better and i am guessing by 6 weeks it will be completely gone. The first 2 weeks are the worst hun and then as days go by you get better, it’s amazing how much a day can heal. I am telling myself the turning point is 3 weeks and from then to 6 weeks I should be completely fine. Everyday that passes is another day closer to your recovery turning point. Hang in there 🙂

@lala111I forgot to mention that although it’s a spa hotel the spa treatments are optional. I think I would only opt for a facial anyway! definitely would not be up for a massage aha! I’m looking forward to getting the first 2-3 weeks out of the way then! Happy recovery to you too and thanks for all the info! xx

@jasminefaith congrats! I’ve had a few naps throughout the day and found it hard to get off the bed or sofa. was very painful… my boob fizzed a bit too which are just air bubbles in the pockets. I’ve managed to have bowel movements without laxatives and so far, very pleased with the results! I look forward to seeing them drop and fluff. How are you? xx

Ive found the pain too much and had a few mini meltdowns! Trying to get comfortable is beyond difficult. I need the next few days/weeks to pass quickly, so I can start to feel like myself again. Boob fizzing does not sound good Xx
