When is it decided where impant will be placed? How to decide on size.

Hi,
I’m having a BA on 22nd December. I went to meet my surgeon, Mr Traynor on Wednesday and there was no mention of when it would be decided where the implant will be placed (under or over the muscle) and to be honest I didn’t even think to ask until afterwards. Does anybody know when this is usually decided?

I’m booked in to go and see my PC again in a few weeks as after trying on some sizes on Wednesday, I still felt very unsure of what size to go for and felt rushed into the decision that was made. I want to feel happy with my decision. Mr Traynor recommended I should go for minimum 300cc and maximum 400cc. I am 5ft 6″ and around 9st 7ibs. Does anybody have any advice on what size to go for. I’ve been thinking about 350cc? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

i’m going for 400cc under the muscle and i’m the same height and weight as you everyone says always go for the biggest recommend size to you. mines on the 24th oct so excited now!! what size are you looking to be i wanted DD and that’s what my surgeon recommended xxx

@carrie1991 and you have plenty of time to change your mind my surgeon said even on the day i can choose between unders or overs i just need to let her know xxx

Hi Carrie,
When I met with the surgeon they told me where they would place the implant.
I’m sure it can be clarified when you meet with the PC again. Although you could try ringing the PC and ask them to check the surgeons notes in the meantime?
Sorry, that’s not really a helpful response!
Also, most people tend to say go for the bigger option as you may suffer from boob greed post op. (One surgeon I met with did actually say that too!)

ah i’m a 34 b so were pretty much the same! and yeah i’m hoping for a DD and i’m in the fitzroy hospital we haven’t got long to go at all now ahhh! too excited but nervous of the pain after ha! xxx

immm soooo excited Its going to drag. im not looking forward to the pain after it either but id rather be in pain and have boobs then have these little fried eggs lol. xxxx

haha i know!! and i know any pain or discomfort will so be worth it in the end even more boob envy now i know it’s happening ha i can’t stop looking at differest boobs to see how mine will roughly look haha! boobs on the brain xxxx

Ahhh how exciting! I cant wait to go for mine now but i’m just so nervous at the same time. I want everything to be right before. Ahh yeah ok, I’ve read quite a lot of posts about people wanting to go bigger. I think id like to be about a D, I’m a 34B now so I think id be happy with a D :). Id like to go for a natural look if possible. I will go back and try some more sizes on and see what I think.

@carrie1991 how much breast tissue do you have now if that’s not too personal? i’m going under because i don’t have much and the implants will be a lot more noticeable with risk of rippling so depends on your breasts now really but your surgeon will know best! xxx

Erm I would say I have quite a bit I think, but then my boobs are tiny so im not sure haha. I think I would like to go under for that reason though, aswell. I might just give them a quick ring and see if they know anything about it :). If not I can always arrange to see the surgeon again. I just want to feel sure when the day comes, that I know what’s happening and i’m happy with my choice if that makes sense. xxx
