Hey girls this might sound stupid but I have a real fear of not waking up once Iv been put to sleep. I know this may sound stupid but it really frightens me. Can anyone give me any advice on how to get over this feeling as im scared of freaking out when I do go into surgery.
Hey, I’m the same , honestly u will be fine . Just talk to ur nurse , explain ur feelings she will be able to put ur mind at rest , mine did.. U will be fine . Xxx
It doesnt sound silly because i feel the exact same lol im going to book my op on wednesday. ive never been put to sleep or anything like that before and im terrified, i know on the day of the op i will most probably cry my eyes out because i will be scared but just think of how many people are put to sleep and have ops every day im sure you will be in good hands and try not to worry thats what i keep trying to tell myself lol when is your op x
Babes I feel exactly the same! Even said to them what if the electric goes! Aha what a idiot I think just worry about everything I’m so paranoid anyway ahh! xxx
Thanks girls!! Im looking to have it end of March. I have my consult with DR mounir on the 16th March and want it done asap. Its such a scary process but the though of having boobs is so exciting. Hopefully once i have seen the surgeon I will feel more at ease.xx
Ohh bless ya. I had the same thought as I felt quite unhealthy and even thought I would be rejected based on my blood work but I wasn’t. It was all in my head as it is in yours. If you was at risk of complications from anaesthetic then they wouldn’t operate, a person usually reacts the same to an anaesthetic as they have with previous anaesthetics so think about any times you have been put to sleep. I hadn’t had a op for 13 years and still reacted exactly the same as I did previously which for me is dizziness and vomiting apart from that it went well I woke up as I was being wheeled into my room I was high as a kite but was well enough to chat up the cute surgical assistant looool Make sure you eat healthy up until the surgery so that your body reacts well and you recover quicker maybe start doing hot yoga if you have time before the surgery as that strengthens and releases toxins from the body therefore accelerates healing.
Your not the only one Kerry . I feel exactly the same absolutely petrified ! Thinking what’s going to happen to my little girl if I won’t wake up she ‘s got only me! But I think we are in good hands . And what we got to remember is we are healthy so we shouldn’t have any problems with waking up ! And that’s why they doing pre op to make sure we ok to go under GA. Good luck with your consultation and your op Hun . Mine is booked for 25 th sooooo excited 🙂 xx
Hey Kerry I used to be the same I have has alot of surgery over the years to both feet hated getting put under for fear of not coming around I had surgery to remove a surgical staple from my foot a few weeks b4 my BA and to my surprise I was fine the day of the BA itself I was to excited to be nervous hope all goes well for you try and relax and enjoy the whole experience it will be worth it in the end x
Hey Hunni I think everyone has the same fear my surgery was moved as my fear was that bad Hunni was ment to of had mine done in October. I made myself really poorly I had really bad noes bleeds I was worrying that much. So it was moved too January and I talked over things with my husband then come jan I was a lot more chilled about it and on the day I was really calm and just went with the flo. Babe like all the other girls have said u will be fine
Aw Kerry, I felt like this too and even though i’d been under GA before, I was panicking a bit this time as i was doing it out of choice and not medical necessity. You’ll be absolutely fine hun and in good hands. I had Mr Mounir 3 months ago and am seeing him too on 16th March for my 3 month follow up so may bump into you at the clinic (my appt is at 3.30) xx
My fear is waking up during the surgery :/ x
Argh thanks girls, its great hearing from people who have been thorugh it or are in the same position as me. Meg I also have a daughter, she 8 years old and I feel guilty about doing this incase of complications but know I will be so much happier in myself once its done. Hey Sharon my appointment is at 3:45 so I will more than likely bump into you. it will be great to see someone who has had the surgery with DR Mounir. Look ofrward to seeing you. And thanks again girls.xx
I had a fear of waking up during the surgery and not been able to tell them.. Also of not waking up..I told the anesthitist and his assisitant and they put your nerves at ease..she told me that she had been doing it about 15 years and neither have happened. They will give you the best care because if you think about it really it’s not worth their reputation if either of them things happened then they would never operate again due to negligence and bad press xx
