I’ve finally had my OP I received my admission time 4 days before which was 2pm.
I arrived at First Trust Preston at 1:30 ( waited in the car untill 1:55) with my boyfriend we checked in and waited in the waiting room untill a lovely nurse came and took us to my room at about 2:10pm she told me to put on the gown an paper knickers and do urine sample…literally as she left Dr Traynor came in to draw on me and gave me a form to sign and asked me if I had any questions, then shortly after the doctor came in and asked me a few questions and took my temp and listened to my chest then the nurse came to do my hospital band then the anaesthetist came in to tell me about going to sleep and after that about 15 mins later they came and got me walked me to the op room, the nurse and the anaesthetist made me feel at ease and just spoke to me and made me laugh untill I fell asleep then what felt like 10 seconds ( really was an hour ) I was awake and just waiting around in a room talking to the nurses waiting to get taken back to my room they then helped me slide into my bed and went to get my boyfriend for me then they came back with a jug of cold water ( which I needed I was super thirsty!!) and a biscuit Then for 2-3 hours I had nurses come and do checks on me every half hour ( taking my temp and my blood pressure ) then one of the nurses helped me into my bra and brought me a tuna sandwich and juice then shortly after I got told to slowly sit up on the end of the bed and get up and walk around for a little bit and then get dressed and have a wee. The head doctor came in to tell me all about the antibiotics he also removed my cannula and gave me my implant guide book then I was allowed to go home! My whole experience was a 10/10 fantastic team! The only bit of advice I would give you is to literally chill out and don’t worry your in good safe hands!
I just want to thank all the staff at First trust they were all fantastic couldn’t of wished for a better experience all made my time there amazing couldn’t fault anyone…not one bad word about my experience and thank you to the amazing Dr Traynor and my PC Lauren thank you MYA!!!
