Hey Girls,
I know this may seem weird but I love this platform and everyone seems pretty amazing!
I would like to know what everyone does for work, I am 19 years old have been working in the financial industry for nearly two years and I am completely sick of it. I want to do something amazing and that I am passionate for.
I’d just love to hear your stories xx
Hey 🙂
Ah makes me sad when people don’t like their jobs! I’m 23 and a nurse, i absolutely love it and couldn’t imagine doing anything else, I work in organ transplantation so feel incredibly lucky to look after the people I do and see them get a second chance at life. Dont get me wrong, it can be very challenging and emotional and having to do crazy shift patterns but I guess every job has it slight downsides. I also like that I’m constantly learning in my job aswell and doing various study days and gaining knowledge and there is always an opportunity to move speciality whenever I want to e.g. I would like to work in Intensive Care at some point.
My advice would be to pursue whatever job you would love to do cause in the end it will be worth it 🙂 xx
@jessica
Wow that sounds like a dream, you are exposed to everything you need and are working for your passion. I am so envious, I have no clue in what I want to pursue and that is frightening me. I believe I knew what I wanted but now I’m questioning myself. xx
Hey Nadia, I work in the tourism industry and I love it! Mostly overseas so means I will have to fit in surgery with my leave months but I’ve been working in Mallorca, Iceland, Italy and Ibiza over the last few years! But don’t worry I’m 25 and still trying to decide what to be when I grow up, when I started I was only going to do the job for just year or so while I worked out what I wanted to do with my life but i can’t think of anything else I’d rather do! X
Hey Amelia, that sounds amazing! I would love to work in different countries and travel around the world.
Don’t you get home sick ?
I constantly keep changing my mind, but I know finance isn’t for me! x
Hey Nadia,
I work in supply chain management and ship family planning commodities (pills, iuds, implants, condoms) around the world for a charity. I don’t get to travel much but deal with colleagues and manufacturers from all over every day.
I love my job – only took me 15 years and 2.5 degrees to find that’s my thing 😉
Don’t stress over having to find The thing you want to do, your skills and interests may change and then you might just stumple upon something that brings it all together 🙂 x
Hey Lisa,
Thank you. Your job sound very interesting – I’m also quite interested in charity work.
I will try not to stress about but it’s hard as i’m always thinking about the future and yes definitely that’s what I’m hoping haha:) x
Hi Hun, I’m PA and secretary to the board of a high profile sports club. Love my job. Meet loads of interesting people all the time and if it wasn’t for working there I wouldn’t have met some of the closest people to me in my life xxx
When i was at school i wanted to be a hairdresser i did that and qualfied at 18 i then got very ill and had to stop woking for 3 years ans re think what i wanted to do, i liked the idea of nursing after spending so much time in hospital but i gave up the hairdressing as i couldn’t be on my feet all day so knew nursing would be a no go. I now work in a gp surgery as a receptionist, administrator, gp secretary. (At my drs we are not just reception staff we do all sorts so its interesting- i do contraception recalls code eye screening and mammograms, organise hospital appointments to making normal appointments and tea. I often get shouted and sworn at or cried at but its mostly happy the girls/ some of my best friends now make it easier when days are hard. They are all very excited about me getting new boobs. I would take your time you spend more time at work than anywhere so you need to be happy in your job. Sorry about the long post didn’t realise how much i had written. Xx
Hey Nadia! Sometimes I get a little homesick but I get a company iPad so I can FaceTime anytime I want! Plus the people I work with become our own family together wherever we are! I don’t really miss the place just a few people! Plus I now have friends all over the world and have done some amazing things! Worth chasing your dreams though while you can, if you don’t like whatever else you change to you still have time to try something else too! Xx
