I have a (just turned) 1 year old and a 3yr old. Am quite nervous as like you will have help in the first week but will then be on my own with them. I am trying to get my 3yr old used now to fact that I wont pick her up. However going to have no choice with littlest.

I dont know how old your children are but advice from pc and board here seems to be that its best to keep active anyway so it will just be the picking up bits I think that should be a big issue. Looked after them both whilst in pain/exhausted plenty of time what with c-section and various illnesses when had them both so that bit isnt nice but doesnt bother me as such. xx

My son is 2, If yours are toddlers and not babies heres a tip, piggy back them! to get my son downstairs quicker i get him to jump on my back and hold his hands to carry him down, im 2 weeks post op now and im fine with picking him up properly just to sit him on my knee, not walking about carrying him xx

I’ve got twins (boy and girl) 4 years old. My girl thinks she a right princess and gets my to carry her up and down stairs…to and from school etc. I’ve tried not carrying her this week so she gets used to it….the result: full on tantrums, crying and screaming!! I’ve given into her this week…but from next week onwards I’m not going to be able to give in (having BA on monday) I think once I explain to her that I’ve been to hospital and I can’t carry her then she might be ok. xxx

Hey hun, I had mine three weeks ago Saturday. I have a 3 yo and 19mo, I was told that if I need to life my little one, to get on the floor and have him climb on. Which I have been doing. Tbh, I am lifting him out of the car and cot ATM because he’s too little to do it himself, and in no pain what so ever, and mine are dropping nicely, if at different times. Non lifting is to keep the risk of capsular contracture as low as possible after recovery, so you need to be strict. I get as much help as I can, but after 5 days I was pain free and felt like I could keep up with the little ones xx
