    So, like everything in my life ( I am an assistant to the Directors of a global technology company), there has been a last minute change of plans.

    I had planned to stay in a hotel after the operation however now I will be travelling home because of my two fur babies. It is approximately 31 miles and should take approximately an hour.

    What advice would you give me and what were your experiences going home immediately afterwards as a car passenger? x

    Hi Kristy you should be fine. I drove 3 hours back to Wales the same day as my op without any problems. It was around day 3 the pain started to kick in with me. The drive home was not a problem x

    I went home straight away by car you will be fine lovely my partner was just extra careful when going over speed bumps and stuff just incase, I just say up quite straight so I wasn’t completely relaxed incase there was any bangs but I found my Macom bra protected them from pretty much everything so it was fine just couldn’t wait to ge to get in bed! Xx

    I read that taking a pillow to sit on in the car absorbs speed bumps etc so I took one on the day however like everyone else said I didn’t need it on the day and my drive was 1.5 hours home but was comfortable

    Hello. You should be completely fine the drive home on the same day was no bother at all for me it was the following 3 days that we’re more painful so I just didn’t go anywhere today I’m on my 4th full day PO my surgery was on Monday and I’m feeling a lot better pain wise just a little bit tight and stiff still xxx

    My drive home is 2 and half hours. I was going to stop overnight in hotel after but I know I’ll just want my own bed and home comforts. Am I making the wrong decision going home! Surgeon seems dead set on me staying in a hotel after. Is this just something they stress to everyone because they have to? Xx

    No If ur drive is over 60 or 90 min away they want you to be close I’m ase anything goes seriously wrong after your op so you can get back to the place you’ve had it done. Xx

    @natcoggs Travel does enhance risks of things going wrong which is why I did want to avoid any travel at all post op, personally I definitely wouldn’t be risking it if my travel was over 70 minutes x

    I had a 5 hour drive home which we did the day after surgery. The journey itself was fine. Definitely use your V pillow and sit as upright as possible. The worst bit was potholes, roundabouts and sharp turns. Just use your pain meds as you’ve been advised and it shonestly not too bad

    I had a pillow to protect the new twins from. The seatbelt. I found corners tough I think my driver was flying round them so go slow on corners as I felt my boobs where shifting and slow over speedbumps otherwise no problems
