So I’ve woken up half way through the night feeling less drowsy so I thought I might Aswell write my story up now.
I got to fitzroy for my admission at 10am and waiting for about an hour to be seen to my room which went pretty quickly I was with my friend and just watched some tv on my phone before getting called. I was absolutely starving by this point too 🙁
Anyway as I got to my room (I had one to myself with a lovely big on suite) And got seen by the nurse and dr Singh very quickly. Went through my med history quite a few times during the day and my Singh Drew on me and took some pictures. Then I got seen my the anaesthetist who was lovely and calmed me down about the needle!
My Singh said he would see me about half 1ish as he had someone in surgery and another girl before me which I was totally happy with waiting… Making the most of my freedom to move for the last time for a whilst haha!
I watched an episode on Netflix and before I know it was called to go down (I was allowed down in my dressing gown) I went through mee hsitory again and they took me to the surgery room which was very surreal. The bed was in the middle of the room with massive lights and doctors and nurses around which made me feel nervous for the first time but everyone was lovely. I was laid down and started talking to me the anaesthetist was there straight away putting the cannula in (this was my worst fear) and omg it wasn’t anything as I expected I thought it was going to be the middle of my pain in my vein but it was at the side which didn’t hurt at all I fell asleep straight away and next thing I woke up. Was blabbering on but kept forgetting what I was saying (the anaesthetic was good! Which I could stay on it ha) it was painful moving back on to my bed when I got wheeled back and my friend was there. I got given some meds and I was in a lot of pain crying but crying only made it 10x worse. I had a drip of paracetamol and tablet to calm me down and felt a lot better. The nurses kept coming in to take my blood pressure and telling me to go to sleep which I couldn’t and when I was drifting off they’d always walk in so it was quite frustrating as I was so drowsy: I had some tea and toast by 7 (24 hours since I last ate) and it was the best thing haha. Looked at my boobs and they look huge but really high and pointy they look like cones atm! I didn’t have a v pillow for the car journey home but I was only half hour /45 mins away and I felt slightly sick but I didn’t really need a pillow as the pain was all the same by this point.
Overall it’s been a long day but can’t thank every one at the hosptial enough they were there at all times, lovely and did everything to make me feel comfortable.
I would highly recommend wearing slippers they give you when walking around as I slipped on the socks and it was so painful.
Also- girls I recommend bringing someone with you for the whole day not just to pick you up! My friend literally did everything for me from moving me, massaging my arms (they were more painful than my boobs) passing my drinks and other stuff and reassuring me constantly.
Good luck to all the pre op girls! Hope your day went as well as mine did and sorry for the longest post! X x x x x x

Congrats sian it’s so exciting 🙂 did they tell you to stay in candy?? Will you have to pay extra? Did anyone stay with you? This is one thing I’m worrying about as my pain threshold is crap and we live like 4 hour drive away. Xx

what a lovely read! Glad everything went well! My legs are going weak reading about the pain Eek xx
im glad you had a good experience hun, happy healing xx
Hope you’re ok and healing well. Seems like you were in a lot of pain! I was really lucky and didn’t have any painkillers yesterday until I decided to go to sleep in the evening. How are you feeling today? X
@alanawise yeah my arms were the worst yesterday after my op they were in more pain then my chest! Which made me cry and had to get my friend to massage them out! I’m feeling good considering I’ve got quite good arm movement now and takes me a while to move about but I’ve gotten used to it now I suppose! It was so surreal yesterday going into that operating room! I thought I was gonna be put to sleep before they wheeled me in! How are you feeling today? Xx
Glad everything went well for you Sian. Congrats on your new boobs 🙂 I had achy arms too after my op, they were killing! Didn’t notice the pain in my boobs because my arms hurt so bad! Enjoy and happy healing. I’ve added you, hope that’s ok xox
I know what you mean! It’s so weird being in there. I think that’s one of the worst bits having to walk in there and see everyone. I’m feeling surprisingly really good. My recovery so far has been amazing considering. Fingers crossed it stays this way. How are you? Xx
Thank you Alex I’ll accept you now!
I’m feeling good alana sitting up now bad my breakfast just need to keep myself occupied can tell this is going to be a long boring week ahead! Hopefully it doesn’t get worse on day 2/3 like the other girls say when you come off the meds! X
Happy healing hun. Glad your day went smoothly. Keep on top of your painkillers from day 2/3, just to be safe. xxx
Thanks sharks 🙂 I will try my best! Need to take note of when I’m taking cocodamol as it makes me feel so drowsy and I forgot things. I’ve forgotten even if I took one today I can’t remmeber! X
Yeah I know, I’m working from home Tuesday to thursday so that’ll take my mind off things. But we can’t do anything for ourselves so having to rely on everyone is so hard haha. Yeah.. They say day 3 is the worst and I’m dreading it! Xx
Oh my boobs are like cones too girls, I look like madonna hahaha!!
I’m in so much more pain today than I was yesterday, I was fine after my op but today is just horrible! and I didn’t really sleep last night so I am bloody shattered today 🙁 Hope it gets better quickly!
I’ve got pictures on instagram myaba_feb20

I’ve accepted you @elizabeth
What size did you go for? I hope mine does too but heard it gets worse on day 3! Not looking forward to what’s the come and I’m so bored already!!! X
@Sian I had 400cc hp overs, you?
It can’t get worse, I’m pretty good with pain but this is beating me already 🙁
Oh I know I can’t wait till next Friday to get this strapping off to see them properly. I had to make a before and after picture cause I’m already used to them haha, but I think that’s just cause I can’t really see them because of this bloody strapping!! xx
Well done! Sounds good, now just time for recovery! Xx
