About me

I had my first consultation last month with Julie Nicholson at the MYA clinic in Newcastle. Absolutely lovely woman and very reassuring! I then booked in for the following Wednesday to meet my chosen surgeon Gary Traynor, he was very straight to the point, but that’s what you need in a surgeon, he could also have a laugh with you , lovely man. I booked in for my op 2 weeks later and got it all paid off etc. Had my pre-op last week and had my operation yesterday, I didn’t have a great reaction to anesthetic as I’d never been put to sleep before so I just felt very sick and dizzy, I was shaking like a leaf when being wheeled back to my room. My lovely boyfriend was waiting for me though which cheered me right up! Gave him a sneaky peek and he was also impressed 😉 It doesn’t help watching the cannular taken out, not painful it just knocked me even more sick so I would advise looking away! The experience is totally worth it, I can’t wait to look at them under my sports bra again! Will be getting them measured soon, I was barely a 32A and I am very slim built but I feel my boobs are the biggest size which would suit my frame so I’m very happy! Feeling sore now and like my breast muscles are being pulled whenever I move, keeping myself right with my meds though so pain isn’t unbearable 🙂

Patient Story

Why did you want the procedure?

Boost confidence, sick of not filling out 32A bras.

Why did you choose MYA?

I had read a lot of reviews on MYA and the majority were very positive, so why not!

How was your consultation?

My consultation was with Julie Nicholson in Newcastle, lovely woman and answered every question I asked. She advised me I had a tiny frame and the 350CC I tried on in her office were perfect for me, and I agreed! Not small, but not big for my frame 🙂

How was the day of your procedure?

I drove to Preston from Newcastle so quite a long drive, I was so relaxed until I got there and it finally all sank in, was a bit of a blur! I started to get very nervous but found out I wouldn’t be having surgery for a few more hours so I tried to stay relaxed. I met my doctor and the man who would put me to sleep. Gary Traynor then came in to draw on me and sign some stuffmI was very nervous for the needle and anesthetic, more so than the op! But it was totally fine, they used a kids needle in my hand so it was tiny and hardly felt it go in. I was wheeled into the operating room and Gary said good luck, he is such a lovely man and a character! I liked the feeling of the antibiotics going up my arm, just felt very cold! The anethnatist put my ‘gin and juice’ (his words haha) in the tube and I spoke to the lovely woman who was helping him out, she calmed me right down and we spoke about a lot, she told me she would see me soon then I was out before I knew it. I remember being woken up, I must of been out for longer than expected and I was shaking really bad when I got wheeled to my room, I had also gone a funny yellow colour and naturally my boyfriend was very worried bless him, but I started to come round and all was well! I’m not going to lie, I felt very tight, like I couldnt breathe and a lot of pressure on my heart area, this is normal though as my little chest isn’t used to having boobies! The nurses gave me water straight away and I had some tea and toast which was lovely. Gary Traynor came in to see how I was doing after the op, he told me no touching, and same to you (pointing to my boyfriend) haha. I stayed in the hospital for about 4-5 hours, I could of gone earlier but every time I tried to stand up it knocked me sick and started sweating. The woman took the cannular out, not very gently! It didn’t hurt too bad but started bleeding a lot and that tipped me over the edge. I have no idea how, but I didn’t throw up thank god. I lay down for a while longer and started to feel a lot better, my boyfriend helped me get dressed, and the nurse came in to tell me about my meds. I just wanted to get to the hotel and get some food and sugar down me! We left and I am currently lying I’m the hotel bed, still feeling sore and achy but not as much pressure on my chest. Excited to have another look!

How was your recovery?

Only 1 day post op.
Still sore and achy, can’t lift my arms and movement is quite restricted.

Are you happy with your results?

So far, so good! So happy I have boobies woo.
