So my story began at 7:30 yesterday morning. My admission time was 10:30 and I’m under an hour away but my Macom bra didn’t arrive in time so had to rush out to get one. I found one on-line at Debenhams so we (me and my boyfriend) went there (the closest one is half an hour away) got there at 9:30 and they didn’t have any in stock so we went to john lewis and got one there. I later found out this was unnecessary as I didn’t need it until the next day,

anyway, we got there about 5 minutes late which wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. There was only one tight space in the car park so we went there as road parking was permit holders only between 10-12. when we left we realised we had parked in the disabled spot all day by accident!

I got to my room just before 11:00. I got seen by Mr Chantarasak 5 minutes later, then the nurse came in and did all the questions, took a urine sample and did my height and weight, then the anaesthetist came in and asked me some questions (he seemed nice), then the nurse came back with the socks and pants and i already had my gown on. Another nurse came and got me to for surgery at about 11:45.

I went into a separate room and lay down in there while they set up my bed for surgery. I went in at about 12:00, had the anaesthetist inject my hand and was given the air thing- that was horrible! anyway, the next thing I remember is waking up at 1 and asking this woman who was with me if she was my anaesthetist (now looking back that was a stupid question because she was a black woman and my anaesthetist was a white man!) and i was very keen on talking to the girl next to me but after we’d woken up we were taken back to our rooms quite quickly so i only got to say hello. I was also very cold at this point.

my blood pressure was taken by Esther (my nurse from the morning) throughout the afternoon and I spent the afternoon drinking tea watching TV and napping. I didn’t feel particularly tired but my eyes were heavy.

I was told off by Esther when she caught me getting changed at around 2:30. I was doing too much!

we were allowed to go at 5pm but we stayed until 7 to avoid the traffic. then we got home and had Indian takeaway :)

All in all, I had a nice day.

the pain killers have worn off this morning and my left breast is a little sore. I took my bandage off, and both my dressings over my scars have blood stains. the left more than the right. is this normal??
