1 week pre op dos and donts??? Started by: firewire22

For my day case i took:

Front fastening pjs

Hoodie

Slippers

Dressing gown

V Pillow

Comfy clothes for on way home (but i wore pjs home in the end)

Baby Wipes

Roll On deodorant

Make up (didnt use it)

Throat sweets (didnt use em)

Hair bobble without metal on it!

Book

Magazine

Camera & charger

Phone & charger

Cant think what else i took!

Well i was told no alcohol for 7 days but ilooked in my booklet an it said 48 hours an it was my friends bday 2 days before so i rung the nurse an asked an she said i was only allowed ONE small glass of wine 2 days before and nothing more, no spirits or shots etc. I didnt bother in the end so i was alcohol free for around 8 days.

I dyed my hair the day before my op as it needed doing an knew i wouldnt be able to bend over to wash it out, an i waxed an tinited my eyebrows 3 days before!

Im not sure about sunbeds but i stopped 2 weeks before as i was told no tanning so i thought id stop everything completely! xx

I had a few glasses of wine 4 days before my op! I asked my surgeon he said its fine as long as u don’t drink the night before lol. I didn’t go with mya though. But I’ve had sugery before on the nhs and alcohol wasn’t even mentioned! I also dyed my hair two days before. And I managed to wash my hair over the bath 5 days post op! Got my mum to do it for me the first time at 2 days po. Can’t bare not washing my hair it makes me feel dirty lol. Also I didn’t think I’d need a dressing gown for day case but wish I took one cos they had to give me an extra hospital gown to walk down to theatre in Xxx
