12 week check – BA Started by: princess76

    Hi

    Is everyone supposed to have a 12 week check after their BA? I saw my surgeon at 4 weeks and was told that my boos were diff shapes but would stay that way, and to come back in a year (my 6 week check was then cancelled). Is this normal? Also, I am still feeling very sore and bruised along my sides and under my arms and it’s painful to sleep on my sides because of this, feels like something is permanently digging into me. Did anyone else have this? I’m 6 weeks post op today

    I just had my 6wk check too and was told i’ll get a 12wk check..im in ggow x

    Ooh, GG?? wow!!!! You must be really chuffed! How’s your healing been? Can’t understand where my 3 and 6 month checks are going, or how they can tell that’s the finnal results after 4 weeks. I can really see the difference, one is much higher and rounder than the other, I hope it’s not permament

    ahahah, oops, I thought it was typing like you said I’m a GG wow! lol! blonde moment!

    So 6 week not usually with surgeon then? interesting! Do you think it’s worth having a 12 week check with the nurse then? Cos 4 weeks seems v early to be signed off, especially if he thinks they’re uneven! This convo will prob be in my notes next time I go as well!

    hey princess! sorry to hear you still arent feeling 100% yet :(

    i had my 6 week check with my surgeon on Monday and they didnt mention anything to me about another check. I will have to call the clinic and see what the score is.

    are you sleeping in your macom still?

    Hi hon, yeah still sleeping in it, it’s become my security blanket now, can’t imagie not having it, in fact I hadn’t thought about it but todays the day it can come off!!! ow are you doing? Have you started wearing underwires yet? I have one on today but think I might get my comfy maternity bra on for a bit longer, scars look so red all of a sudden!

    yeah, i feel like that with my macom too. I slept with it off (by mistake lol) but i woke up feeling achy the next day so its gone straight back on and not come off since. I think they advise not to wear an underwired bra for 3-6 months after so im not ganna take any chances. I dont have enough money at the moment to by a bra anyway lol! roll on payday!

    have you got your feeling back yet? Mine are still a little numb underneath but i think the more i massage, the more the feeling is starting to come back. My right nip is still sensitive too but left is fine.

    Underneath almost no feeling still but not tender any more at least, but nipples feel totally ok, that’s about the one thing that seems to be back to normal. I have noticed tho that the underneath is still a funny shape, I wonder if the implant still hasn’t settled into place maybe, it’s the same on both sides. How long does this healing take?! I’m with you on the underwire thing, I’m keeping them off now unless I have to, until the scars seem to have faded and aren’t so uncomfortable. I hated my macom after a couple of weeks, was so uncomfortable, but I am back in love with it now! Maybe i should be massaging, I never thought to ask before, if it works I’ll give it a go!

    yeah i was the same with the macom. i gave up with it and started wearing a tesco high impact sports bra and was loving it but i think its a bit small so ive gone back to the macom and im sticking with it lol

    yeah give the massage a go. i have been too scared to massage under but ive been given the all clear to go ahead now so ive started to this week. i dont know if the feeling will come back 100% or if it is just me getting used to how it feels now. x x x

    Yeah thats the weird thing, you do get used to it strangely. I keep thinking the feeling is back cos it’s not tender like it was, but when I was trying to feel the bumps earlier there was no sensation there at all and I could have sworn there would be. It’s a funny old journey!
