Well, when I say upright I mean slightly elavated. And half way through the night I’m so uncomfortable with the pressure on my chest and my knockers going hard and swollen. Is this normal 13 days post op? Waiting for nurse to ring me back. I think she’ll say it’s cos I’m not sleeping upright enough and need to do that for a while longer.
Its awful! i am STILL Sleepin on my back a month on with ease now tho xx
Oh my god!!! Oh well, at least I know it’s normal. And I’m sick of this chaffing feeling I have all day. Feels like my bras are chaffing against my boobs but they’re not. My surgeon and nurse insists on wearing bra 24 hours but I just take it off at night cos I can’t stand it. If Traynor advises all his girls it’s ok to be braless for first 6 weeks then I don’t see the harm. x
Defo give them the air,I started havein them kalms tablets, when i was desprate to sleep! i think i will always sleep on my back now xx
I have tried my side and that’s comfy for about half an hour. But no way am I ever gonna sleep on my front. I love going for massages and I had the idea of a bed with boob holes in it before they mentioned it on The Only Way is Essex the other night! x
I started sleeping flat after 10 days that’s the normal timescale Hunn so I’m sure you’ll be okay to sleep on your back now. I remember hating sleeping upright too x
I’m no good Khanni. I can manage it for an hour but then the pressure on my chest is so bad that I have to go back to being upright. x
Does anyone manage to sleep on their front again? It’s the position I tend to fall asleep in. I remember it doing my head in when I was pregnant and couldn’t do it. I’ll die if I can never sleep on my front again. I’d have to cut 2 holes in my mattress!!! Haha 😆 xx
I started sleeping on my side 10 days post op,..or even a few days before, by accident. Now 7 wks post op and sleeping on my front again, and have done so since wk 4
Supported by plenty of cushions.
It gets better – over time x
I can’t ever imagine sleeping on my front again! Feel like I’ll squish them
xx
Im still pre op but tried sleeping upright to see how it would feel… It was HORRIBLE!! I used loads of pillows, but the pressure on my lower back was just sooo uncomfortable
how do you girls manage it? Haven’t got my V-pillow yet, will that help? xx
omg lisam!!!!!!!!!!!!! im 14 days post op and sleeping upright is killlllling meee!i think 10days is more than enough in that position. are your boobs feeling as though they are soo sensitive that they hurt/burn its weird feeling i cant really describe it but its bloody awful, and thats only one boob its happening to, the other one will probably start feeling like that next week, why doesnt it happen at once!!!
Yes v pillow helps hugely! Couldn’t live without it, makes life so much easier! I’m only two days po but I’m really not feeling much pain at all, I feel fine. Have to keep reminding myself to take it easy as I feel fine! I’ve heard day three and four are the worst though, is that right? Will it get worse? Xx
oh suzyp ur all done!! congrats!… yes u have heard right day3 onwards do get tough, u feel fine now because uv still got drugs in ur system, but its all manageble! it just gets very stiff and achy and u will have ”sad” days but its all worth it! xx how do they look?? x
i start the night upright then i must slide down a bit in my sleep first few days the pain in my back and neck was realy bad think im getting a bit used to it now using v pillow and 2 large pillows plus small one for the back of my neck cant wait to through them all out of the bed and lie on my side !!!
I have 3 pillows and a v pillow and i also lie on a pillow under my fatttt assss lol… Nice and cozy!! Lisa ive pm u hunni xx
I start off elevated a little, but slide down in my bed and am flat on my back, been like this since day 1. oop. lol. but i dont have any problems, i even find my self half on my side sometimes. Maybe the worst is still to come for me. xx
I must be the only person who doesn’t think the V pillow is very good. It pushes my shoulders forward which feels unnatural and the last thing I want is bad posture cos I’m terrible at keeping my shoulders back as it is. Am I using it wrong??
I had a good night’s sleep last night, finally.
Zana, I think I know the pain you mean. What I think it feels like is as if my boobs are chaffing against my bra. x
Besides pain, this is the post-op bit I’m least looking forward to!! I will get so irritible and emotional if I dont get enough sleep, ha ha!!!! Although, I will get to nap throughout the day if I’m at home I suppose..defo going to invest in a V pillow x
