Hey girls,..had my op 2 weeks ago yest (21st dec) at highgate had overs with the wonderful Mr Chantasarak.

Had my dressings off last weds then had steri strips on for 7 days so took them off in shower last night.

Is it normal for them to be very pick and have dried bit of blood etc round the scar? ive looked at otehr peoples pics and they have just a clean scar and they are less days post op than i an :S I dont want to rub the scar or anything to clean them as dont wany to infect them i just dont want to touch them? so how do i go about getting rid of all the dry blood and blotchy redness etc? sorry about the graphic details,..but if you have been through it im sure you know what i mean.

    Thanks Ladies xxx

    Hey Danielle

I am glad you ask this question as I was going to ask the same.

I took mine off in the bath on Monday and they came off fine. I was a little dubious to look at the scars as I didnt know what to expect.

They didnt look great…. but then again they had been covered up for 12 days!! lol

Mine didnt bleed but they have got some stickiness still around them and dry blood…. but I have since learnt that this is normal and part of the healing process.

I have noticed that since showering each day since Monday they are improving and cleaning themselves… I am not touching my boobs or anywhere near them… just letting the water trickle over them as instructed by my nurse :)

I hope you are healing well though babe xxx

I had Dr C too, can’t believe how small the scars are! On both my scars there were little scabs of dried blood at each end. Even now (8 weeks PO) one of my scars is slightly flakey at one end (gross…sorry!)and they are still pretty pink. I really wouldn’t worry, just let them heal and keep them clean! x
