17 DAYS! HELP ME PREPARE? xxx Started by: tashak

    Hi girls! Omg 17 days am starting to get scared lol! Still struggling to decide between 340 & 380 but have decided i would like overs, so am seeing Mr T day before my op & will go for whichever am allowed the overs in. I figured if he says I cud hav 340 overs or 380 unders i wud go 340 overs as they probs work out the same ish? And if he offers 380 overs he obvs thinks they will be fine on me, so will go with them! Does tht make sense? I hope so cz am sick of bein confused lol. Also cud u girls plz tell me wot to get in preparation? Am staying in overnight but wanna b prepared for wen I come bk home. Dnt wanna rely on my bf cz he’s useless haha. My op is on the Wednesday so am asking him to take weds, thurs, fri off work, then he’s in til midday on Sat but think tht shud b fine. Then am saying to him he’ll jst hav to come bk on his dinner breaks for the following wk to feed me haha, shud tht b alrite? Ahhhhhh lol 😯 Also wanna say thank you to all of you that have helped up til now :D couldnt have coped without the forums! mwah xxxx

    You don’t really need loads hun, more just things to make you feel more comfortable like your own PJs if you like, i just wore the gown though. Slippers, wash stuff, V Pillow and then just things like magazines or your laptop if you have WIFI and things to keep you entertained, it gets really boring. I was only a day case and couldn’t wait to get home just out of boredom! Maybe your own snacks and juice if you’re there all evening although you do get fed and as much tea and coffee etc as you like.

    I had mine on the Saturday and my boyfriend was going to have Monday off but didn’t need to in the end. As long as he puts things down at waist height for you, toaster, cups etc then you will be fine xx

    Rr I didnt think bout things at waist height, good thinking hunni! R thts good I hope I don’t need him too much, although I might milk it for what it’s worth as there’s been plenty of times I’ve had to fend for him lol!

    Argh scary!

    Yeh am not rly looking forward to having to stay in overnight but I would only have to stay in a hotel anyway so I guess I would rather be kept an eye on initially.. Plus I rang the hospitol and asked if my bf could stay in the room with me, so that would help too (at £130 tho haha 😯 for a “camp bed”).

    Ooh also what do you do about washing yourself?!xxx

    You’ll defo just need stuff to make yourself comfy then hun, 100% need a V pillow, only £6 or something from Argos, slippers, easy to put on clothes, stuff that fastens at the front. Wash stuff, tooth brush etc…..

    Then just loads of stuff to keep you entertained, books, laptop, DVDs for laptop etc….

    Um well after the first hour or two when the GA wears off you’ll be fine to get up and go to the look and everything on your own, it’s only straight after the GA you need help because you’re all dizzy and unsteady still. After that you’ll be fine to brush your own teeth and wash your face etc. Take some baby wipes though just in case you’re not up to it. They have showers in the room but you can’t have a full shower until your dressings are taken off…. to be honest i didn’t really wash properly for about four days! Just soap and water under arms and baby wipes everywhere else. My boyfriend washed my hair for me over the sink about 6 days after! It’s a bit gross really but you’re only sitting around resting anyway so not like you’re working up a sweat!

    £130 for a camp bed?? Mad! Maybe he can bring his own?? xx
