1st MRSA swab (after MRSA treatment) come back negative!! :D

Got my first set of MRSA swabs come back today after my treatment, come back negative
So happy! Now for another 2 and I’ll be able to re-book surgery!

This is interesting. So you failed the first MRSA swab test and had the appropriate treatment then you have to repeat the process another 3 times until they were all clear?

Spoke with my coordinator yesterday and there was no really mention of having to do over and over again if the first one came back positive.

yes its stupid isn’t it, obviously all 3 are going to come back clear if the first one did
I am with Harley medical so they do it differently, but i suppose its to make completely sure that it’s gone

I think they do three as the first may be a false positive plus in case u get the infection again. Best to be safe than sorry as having tht in ur system would have made u get a re op and put others at risk who come into contact in the hospital.
