Hi girls, I’m 1 week post op today and healing well no pain just an irritating feeling in my left nipple! Feels like pins and needles!! Been for my 1 week check today with the nurse he removed my plasters and steri strips and said there healing fine and can be left uncovered! I’m really scared of catching them or getting infection! Is it normal to have them left uncovered from 1 week I thought they put steri strips on for another week or so? Also I bought some of the savlon spray that a few girls recommended, do u think I’ll be ok to start using that now!
Thanks xxx
i had my 1 week. check yesterday but im with nu the nurse took my dressings off and put a steri strip and said to wear it till later on when i had a proper bath so i took it off after my bath xx
Hey hun im having my 1 week check tomorrow and i was thinking the same! I bought some steri strips in case i wanna put them on over my scars just for some reassurance but i think its also good to let air get to them so they properly heal? If he said its ok to leave them uncovered then take his advice
I have the savlon spray too im gonna just use it after i get out the shower xx
Thanks girls, just so paranoid about getting an infection but they seem to have closed up now just a bit raised, I’ll put the savlon spray on tonight after my shower = ) x

i was bad! nurse took them off at 11 days po..i kept redressing them myself everyday after my shower and spraying on the savlon spray, for four weeks!!
i was so scared of my bra rubbing on them!! they healed fine but its defo best to listen to ur surgeon/nurses advice they know ther stuff
I was going to go get some more dressings and cover them myself? but thought letting then breathe might help with the healing?
Ayshababy – was the savlon spray that you used an orangey colour? There was 2 didn’t know which one to get? Got the one in the tin but if goes on orange? = /
xxxSYKxxx – savlon spray is anti bacterial spray they sell it at most chemists it helps stop infection a lot if the girls on here recommended it x
yeh i think letting them breathe is what they need, but they felt sore and looked pretty bad so i thought noway could i let my bra rub on them! so i kept redressing em, after every shower id spray on the savlon then walk around naked for about 2 hours getting air to them lol! then redress!
this is what i used, its clear:

ther was a different one recommended to me but its discontinued so i just got that one x
I had my one week check up yesterday and had my plasters off. My incisions are completely closed over but are a bit raised and have a few scabs. My nurse put a steri strip on them and gave me a whole pack extra in case I needed them but said I’d be fine without anything on them, it’s just whatever feels most comfortable for me. I got my first proper shower (omg, best ever!!) and took them off and haven’t been wearing them. xx
hey hun im 7 days post op today the took my dressing off and then have put the little strips on for another week ,which sucks nurse said i cant get them wet! i want a proper shower. jealous lol xx
Hi Girls,
I had my dressing off yesterday and had steri strips put on..then the nurse said I cant shower until tomorrow an when I get out I have to use the cold setting on my haridryer to dry the strips!
xx
Just looked at mine it’s the dry antiseptic spray with iodine = O that’ll be why it’s orange! Not sure if that’s the right one??
I’m off to have a shower now YIPEEE!!! Can’t wait! = D x
heloo! i had my 1st check up today and my nurse took all my dressing off and i saw that id nitted back nicely but my nurse put another white patches over them and told me not to get them wet for another 6 days, i happy with this so this will avoid any infection as i guess the scar is still very new! but this means no shower still
xx
