anyone else find the pain killers not strong enough! I am taking them every 5 hours bur still in a lot of pain. When does the pain start to wear off! when did everyone start to lie flat? have a shower? I can’t even open a cupboard at the minute without having loads of pain!

It does get easier honey over the next few days, your nurse will instruct re the shower,I was just having shallow baths to clean myself avoiding washing anywhere near the dressings,I know you feel grubby, and that makes the pain seem even more intense,it will ease off honey, just rest as much as you can, while your resting your healing, give the nurse a call she may be able to advise re the painkillers,I slept elevated for two weeks my surgeon advised this to help reduce the swelling.I know its difficult feeling disabled and the simplest of tasks seem so difficult,if you do something and it hurts, that’s your body telling you not to do it honey, hope you have some support at home, big hugs, xxx

Hi Girlies I am 8 days Post op- uplift and BA. I promise you each day gets easier and easier! My Moto has been

    ‘No pain no gain’!

Just think of how happy you will be when everything is heeled. Dont try and open anything at a high level at al. I brought a stool so I wouldn’t have to reach for any thing high. I would say that for me today is the 1st day I have woke up and Im not desperate to take pain killers! All you can do is keep warm, upright and rest. Put on a nice film.

One of the main things for me was looking and feeling like i was 5 months pregnant! I fond that as soon as i stopped the pain killers I was given from the hospital and took Ibrophen and Movicol Sachets I have started to feel a bit more normal. I am still having to rest though and take things slow- walking to the shop the other day felt like I had done a marathon- I keep getting out of breath so quickly! xxx
