hi girls,
I have had a bit of a tough time since having my ba with alot of pain etc, it seems to be getting better now although my boobs are sore and achy which is normal i know, but under my left boob just under the incision its very sore like a sharp pain and feels really bruised just in one spot when touched or when my sports bra touches it, so im finding it impossible to wear a bra at the mo its too painful. Has anyone experienced this do u think its normal and just part of the healing process xxx
idid have sharp shooting pains for a little bit n im 4 weeks now n they r fine.if ur worried phone ur nurse.sure ul b fine tho, sure its quite normal hun x
Everyone heals differently so its difficult to say whether its normal or not, i’d phone the nurse at the clinic and just tell her what you’ve written on here their all lovely and really helpful….then at least you will feel more at ease. xx
Hi hun
Well I am on day 9 at the mo and unlike yourself I sailed through the first week, even went on holidays to france the day after my op!
However this week the aches and pains surfaced and yes I have the same sharp pain in my right incision which I spoke to my surgeon about yesterday evening when I had my post op and he removed the little bandages over my incisions.
Its all very much part of the healing process.
I have to admit back in 2003 when I had my first BA, I was the only person I knew who had a BA and being from Ireland it was a common procedure at all and I dont even think I had internet access back in those days and my post op was 80 miles from where I lived, my GP was not informed of my BA and my surgeon was not someone you called with every little ache or pain so it was pretty much get on with it thinking every strange, weird, painful sensation was all part of the healing process and thinking back it was nearly better as I just got on with it and didnt have people to talk to about it or the internet to freak myself out with!! ha ha
My surgeon yesterday had a good look at my incision for infection and felt the breast to ensure all felt ok and once you have had these things done and you have healing scars then I would put it down to healing.
Its kind of interesting how my aches and pains dont feel half as bad today since he told me that, than yesterday before I saw him.
So maybe if it is possible to take a little trip back yourself to see your nurse or surgeon for some peace of mind.
I did remember last night how my right boob healed totally different than my left back in 2003, the numbness and aches took alot longer in my right one to ease, so dont be surprised if one takes abit longer than the other xx
Hope this makes you feel abit better xx
Thanks girls it seems a bit easier today so hopefully it will ease day by day now xx
Thats it, just one day at a time.
I’m fourth months post op and still get the odd niggle. I have to remember that it’s only 4 months ago and they’re still settling into my body.
It’s been such an invasion in your body. Something brand new and massive in there. Your body is healing so well already and you don’t notice, you just feel the pain. The sharp shooting pain will just be part of this healing process. Secretly I think it’s your body giving you a wee nip to say ” Thanks for this!! ” lol.
You’ve got through today, and tomorrow is a new day. You go girl
xx
I had sharp pains in my boobs and a really tender part on my left boob, literally just one part that was so tender it hurt to even put my bra on so think it is definitely just the healing process, i’m 4 weeks po now and it feels like my scars sting when they touch my skin but yet they look like they have healed. strange but then so is the fact that i am numb under my boobs and hypersensitive on the top. what we do for a boobs! its all worth it though
xx
