2 years post op and not happy! Started by: princessjj10

I had my breast enlargement on 1 April 2010 and was very happy with them at the time. I had some concerns about 12 weeks post op as my boobs did not correctly fit into bras. I’m talking EVERY bra and being measured by numerous people. Anyway I learnt to live with it and tend to wear sports bras the majority of the time now as I find them the best fit.

About 1 year after I developed a bubble in my left brest about the size of 2 50p’s. I didn’t want to think there was a problem so kind of ignored it. Now at 2 years I get regular pain in my left breast, occassional pain in my right and the bubble has disappeared? To where I don’t know…

The main problem is the look of them. They are awful. The implant is sitting in the correct place and is rock hard at the top while my natural boob has flopped to the bottom. The impant sits to the outside of my chest so I have no ‘volume’ in the middle if that makes sense. I got a large implant of 700cc and did know that after some time they would drop but after 2 YEARS – no no no!!!!! I did not pay the amount of money I did for a 2 year solution. I was expecting a bare minimum of 5 years to 10 years.

I am going to see the surgeon tonight as I’m concerned about the bubble, the pains and the look is terrible. Has anyone else went back about their op years after? I have a 5 year guarantee for the implants but I’m dubious that they will fulfil this – I am mortified at the way they look now – trying hard not to cry while typing this!

    Hi there princess,

I had high profiles 265 under the muscle IN 2007.

I wanted natural looking breasts but they looked very fake.

They were hard and looked uneven when I wore tops that showed off a bit of cleavage (one side would seem higher than the other and slightly bigger) and now have fluid like bubble and rippling too.

They were still hard up until I fell pregnant in 2009 and have softened up, but I was also very unhappy with the results.

Oh I feel for you sweetie. xxxxx

My surgeon was Dr Traynor and my clinic was Newcastle. Simple fact is I will not let them fob me off. If neccessary I will take this all the way. I paid for a proceedure and I’m left with something that makes me feel like I’ve been cheated.

I am not prepared to pay any further money to MYA.

Until this point they have been great but if they do not resolve this for me I will do what is necessary to ensure no one else goes through this. I am morified about the way they look and its effecting my relationship. I’m meant to be getting married next year so they have as much chance of getting money out of me as blood out of a stone so they can think again about going down that route!

I hope MYA resolve this for you hun, im reading getting mine done in case anything does go wrong! Good luck xxx

    Hey Princessjj10

I really hope you gte that sorted must be horrible after paying so much money for something that you expect to make you happy not upset. I agree 2 years is just not good enough, i really hope you get it sorted.

did you have 700’s with your first ba? i currently have 380s and having a second BA on may 6th for 700’s hopefully, do you think its the size of the impalnt that caused these problems? xxxx

    Hi Becca

Yes it was my first implant – I was a size D cup anyway and have gone up to a F cup with the 700s.

I think its a very big and heavy implant and I would think carefully about it. I have suffered with sciatica since and have had to have physio which, according to my physio is highly likely a result of the weight. I don’t know if you know much about sciatica but it can leave you struggling to walk – its a result of pressure on your nearves in your lower back – to do with your posture etc. I’m on a cocktail of drugs for it. I may be wrong but its a total coincidence that this started about 4-5 months after the implants – slow at first then bang was agony.

I am not a small girl – about a size 18/20 so was advised that I could take whatever impant size I wanted. Not sure about that advice now to be honest with you. If I had to choose again I would not go as big. I am two sizes bigger on my top to bottom (I was hourglass before this) and finding a dress to fit me is a real challenge! I find people are quite ignorant too and talk to the boobs lol!

Its totally a personal choice and I can only go from my experience. If they had stayed the same as when I first got them then great but now I’m starting to regret it with all of the problems I’ve had.

Hope you don’t encounter this and I’m just a one off. Best of luck with yours – I know its nerve racking even if you’ve had it before!

Hey princess, i really feel for you. I had PIPs put in by mya in 07 and in dec 10 i started to get very bad pains all the time in my chest and breasts. I went back to mya several times over this for a year and was totally fobbed off which left me despairing over what to do, and in the end i had to go thru my gp for scan with breast clinic, etc. Then it turned out i had the PIps and was informed in jan this year (even tho id been told by a mya staff member i had the alleregen ones when i was having all the problems) and have since had them redone. But it took for them to be the PIPs to get anywhere with mya. All i wud say hun, is to be very persistant in what u say when u see the surgeon, cos as u say u paid alot of money to get the sort of thing you wanted and it hasnt lasted long at all. It sound like u may have the snoopy deformity, which is where the breast hangs from the implant, be sure to mention this. Let us know how things go hun xx

Thanks lozzalooloo I will be sure to mention the snoopy deformity as I’ve had a look at pictures on the net and it looks like mine. Does anyone know if this is the fault of the surgeon?

I also went through my paperwork and despite the website saying full guarentee information would be provided by MYA they haven’t actually given me anything. I have nothing about the 3 year, 5 year or 10 year policy they have so will be asking for a copy of this tonight. The only thing I have is all of my receipts, my booklet with my implant information/cards and my consent form to surgery.

Has anyone else got the 3 year information so I know what I’m dealing with?

    Menu

I didnt get anything except the reciept but it was almost 5 years ago so not sure it was the done thing then. As far as the snoopy deformity it depends on what your breasts looked like before, ie, if u had alot of breast tissue to fill out then ideally the surgeon shud go over the muscle, whereas if u go under there is more chance of snoopy deformity. i was told by another surgeon i saw elsewhere that i shoud never have been given unders in the first place as i have plenty of breast tissue and had started to develop a bit of a snoopy look by time i had them redone. So its all down to the surgeons judgement and how your breasts were to start with and where the implants were placed. Also im not hundred percent but im not sure thats covered by the aftercare as far as a re op is concerned, but see the surgeon and see what he says xx
