hi all just thought i would briefly share my story, as i found other peoples useful. First of all i am pleasantly surprised, early days i know but hopefully will stay fine.

I arrived at manchester lifetysle at 11am, filled in paperwork and was shown to my room. The nurses were great i have to say. Wait till you see the sexy knickers the make you wear lol. I won’t spoil the suprise. I waited for what seemed like ages for the anesthetist and mr. Traynor to come see me but when i looked at the clock it was oly 12.15 must have been nerves kicking in as i knew i had been too calm. I had the choice of 340’s or 380’s and opted for the 380’s on Mr. Traynors advice as only 40cc difference and better chance of giving me the full dd from a small 34b. About half hour later i walked down to theatre. By 1pm i was receiving my ansethetic. That wasn’t to bad i have never had it before. It doesn’t hurt it just felt sort of heavy on the hands and as ssson as you get a funny taste in your mouth which is seconds your out like a light. The funny taste was ok, i was expecting something really horrible, but i have a vivid imagination at times. Just before that i was talking to a really nice theatre nurse and she put me right at ease. What we have to remember is that all you have to do is go to sleep once your there, then its all over. Sounds silly but if it helps to think of it that way. The op only took around 40 mins. I remember waking up in the recovery room and thinking is that it. By 2 pm i was back i my room. I was feeling ok just tired. The antisickness and pain killers they give you are great so after there is no pain. I was just a bit tired. I had a brief look and was pleased, they didn’t look as big as i was expecing with the swelling. Once the op was done and your awake they gave me water to drink to see if i could keep it down then a cup of tea and biscuits. It is amazing the little things you take forgranted, i had to move back to sit back to drink but you can’t press down on your arms and the old bum shuffle is hard while still under the influence of anesthetic. The nurses are in and out reguarly to check blood pressure, temp and have a boob feel and will probably give you ice packs for the swelling, the swelling does increase after a while by this point i was thinking wow… I want to keep these, boob greed kicking i early. I had to double look when i looked in the mirror in the loo. Mr. Traynor also popped in briefly. Later on i was able to eat and i have to say the food choices were excellent and all michelin star. The peppered steak comes well recomended. My hubby had a 3 course meal for £9.20, bargain. They were a good size to. You and visitors also get tea and coffees etc. free on the ward which was nice. It was quite late before i felt anything at all and then it was discomfort and not pain. I used a V pillow which really helped when it was time to sleep. Sleeping sat up takes some getting used to and your bum numb. I stayed over night so nurses were in and out at 4 hourly intervals for checks and painkillers. I took the painkillers even though i was in no pain as advised to keep it at bay. I have to say being a day patient would have been fine. You do feel it more next morning and boobs are very tight and heavy but still no painful. I have more movement in my arms than i expected, i was thinking to wouldn’t be able to lift them at all but i could and its hard to remember to try not to. Saying that simple things are difficult, no way i could brush my hair or wash under armpits. Mr. Traynor was out to see me first thing, he gave me a run through briefly on the importance of taking it easy, then i was free to go. The nurses had discharge papers and med ready and buy half 9 i was in the car, ready for my hour and a half drive home. Even now its achy and discomfort btu not painful. They are hard but not as much as i was expecting as the pre op nurse said they would be as hard as a table.

The macom bra felt great when it went on, instantly supported. I was apprehensive about price but you get 10 % off and they expand for swelling and rather than buying several because you don’t know what size you’ll be its got to be more cost effective and they are really comfy.

I just want to reassure anyone waiting that it’s really not as bad as you expect. You will be fine. P.s. Mr Traynor is fantastic, i am so pleased with his work and no drains that i know some surgons use. Hope they carry on healing this well. Hope story helps. Good lick to all those undergoing and still waiting.

p.s. hope this all makes sense if not i blame pain killers lol.
