Hi all,
I had my consultation in manchester with Dr Helena Antoniadou on Monday and have booked to have the op done on 26th April. The consultation went really well and I thought she was lovely. I wanted to originally stay for a daycase however the surgeon said I woul have to stay in overnight. She said the unders would suit me better and due to this she wanted to fit drains and I would have stay in overnight. I am so nervous now thinking about having drains in which get removed the next day and the fact I have heard unders are more painful? She said the drains willl decrease the risk of infection.
Has anyone had drains before? What are they like? Also has anyone got any comments on having unders rather than overs? I am so nervous now.
Also I have a 2 year old boy and am dead worried that I wont be able to lift him etc if it is more painful. I have read some of the other forums and no it differs for each person, but any rough estimates for when you can be up and about again? MY job is quite physical and I have booked 3 weeks off work.
Any comments girls would be so so appreciated and help settle my mind.
Thanks
Jan xxxxx
