I am 2 days post op and oh my goodness my boobs have gone like melons. They seem to have doubled in size since Friday evening! Has anyone else felt like their boobs are just never going to stop swelling. Any tips to help with the swelling. I know it’s only very early days but I didn’t expect this much swelling if I’m honest. Hopefully this is normal x

Using ice packs has helped me with the swelling and pain, I’m 5 DPO now and everything is improving xx

Thanks Emilee. Are you just popping the ice packs on top of the bra or directly on the boobs? How are you finding sleeping? I’m finding it so hard to get comfortable x

Hey Elizabeth, use ice packs in a tea towel or on top of your bra. Ice on top of your boobs directly can burn your skin! Also, have you tried using a bed wedge or back rest for sleeping? x

Hi Elizabeth, I’ve seen written on here a few times to try and drink pineapple juice to help with swelling. May be worth trying if all else fails?? Xxxx

Pineapple juice! Contains bromelian that reduces swelling! Juice or chunks it’ll help work wonders

Like Dannii said on top of the bra, I’ve got strapping on anyway so everything is super tight.

Sleeping has been the worst thing, I actually hate my v pillow I bought and haven’t used it. Slept in my bed for the first two days but my bum/back was in so much pain so this weekend I’ve been sleeping upright on the sofa which I’ve found more comfortable. Last night was the first night I slept straight through without waking up. Xx

I only got discharged today so it’s my first night at home. I have been trying to rest since being home as I’m so tired but I just can not get comfortable. Also bloating as well how have you found that after the op? X

I hope you are not too uncomfortable sleeping, first two nights were the worst, so I’d try to just get as comfortable as you can. Bloating is the worst, I had the worst constipation because of the codeine and I hadn’t been able to go to the bathroom for 5 days (if I could reverse time I wouldn’t have taken them). I recommend buying laxatives (they saved me!!) if you don’t have any just incase because I was in so much pain until yesterday night just due to that. Still bloated now but I think it will take a couple days to go down and I’m 5 DPO. First two nights I took my pain killers/ muscle relaxers just before I was going to sleep which helped a little. I think I was just really unlucky because I was in so much pain even with the pain killers for the first couple days also had unders which are the most painful.xxx

Well this is by far my worst day, did anyone else feel really sick? I have had to stop taking the Dihydrocodeine, as I don’t think this was helping. I’m just left with paracetamol and ibuprofen, was anyone else able to manage the pain on just these. x

I had to come off my antibiotics and nearly completely cut out codeine from day 3 because I couldn’t stop being sick. I stopped paracetamol and ibuprofen on day 5 (now day 6 post op) as pain has pretty much gone. Now just feeling tight in my chest and more uncomfy than anything. I started feeling much better day 4/5 so hopefully you’re nearly out of the worst days 🙂

    Hope this helps xxxx

Hopefully after today I will start feeling better. It’s such a shame isn’t it, as you want to enjoy your new boobies but can’t because of the swelling and feeling unwell. Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow. It’s reassuring knowing it does get better sooner rather then later from people who have already been through it. Are you still very swollen Emma, I can’t wait for that to go down so I can get an actual idea of their size, they are like massive at the moment,

Hey hun I came off the cocodemol too once I got home after my first dose I nearly fainted. I took paracetamol in its place was taking two a time every 4hrs. I saw my surgeon and she told me to half the dose as ir was too much

I coped fine and didn’t have major pain I just slept for hours, ate when my meds were due and watched TV. Unless told to by ur surgeon u need to stay away from ibroprofen as it can cause complications with the blood/healing.

Sorry to hear it’s been so difficult but the first few days are the worst your body is trying to get all the meds out and it’ll be over soon. Try to flush ur system with lots of water, fruit teas, mint tea and fruit. I ate lots of blueberries as they’re antioxidants and great at shifting stuff. Fcx
