2nd of june – Dr Adamo – highgate experience nightcase

My admission was at 1.30 and I arrived there in time ..the receptionist was quiet stroppy and not friendly at all, just gave me some docs to fill out..gave them back then waited and no one let me know what was supposed to happen next or spoke with me …then a guy came and took me and my bf to the room , he barely said anything ..then we waited there for an hour , and again no one let us know how long or what will happen..then the nurse came and weighed me, took blood pressure etc and said very abruptly that I will be having the surgery in a couple of hours and need to change in the robe and paper knickers..at that point I got fed up with all the indifferent treatment and started to get agitated and said that’s not going to happen and put my shoes on and said I’m going out for a walk as I didn’t want my pulse to be over 120 the whole 2 hours !!

It was a lovely hot day outside and it really helped me with my nerves and anticipation and relaxed me and the time flew by

Got back about an hour later, then the anaesthetist came and said about allergies etc, then the doctor came to draw on me and got changed in the robe thingy

another nurse came to take me to the theatre and by then I was shitting myself BIG TIME !

got there and she said leave your shoes here !! then was this other assistant there too…sooo rude !!! come on lay down now !! lay down face up !! felt like i was in fuckin primary school not a person that’s busted their ass to pay £4250 so they can be at least reasurred a bit ?!!

I mean did I ask that much ?

anyway I layed down , the doctor came and was really happy to see him, as all the other nurses seem to be competing who’s ruder, stroppier and more abrupt than the other

Started to go VERY dizzy and I panicked coz it seemed like forever that horrible confusing feeling when I was used to just go under in like a second when I had other operations and again one of the nurse said on a really shitty tone “Try to calm down ” … lolz like that was a choice…and that was the last thing I remember

Woke up as dizzy as when I went to sleep and the nurse didn’t leave my side for a second and must have took my blood pressure 50 times as it was quiet high and gave me an injection for pain aperantly but I’m guessing it was for something else

she was really sweet and polite and very understanding

they kept me in the recovery room for 30 minutes at least and I peed 5 times and when i say pee I was peeing 40 seconds at a time every 10 minutes and the nurse had to bring me a bowl coz I couldn’t get up at all..did anyone pee that much as me?

then a guy and a nurse took me up on the bed and I’m claustrophobic and haven’t been in a lift for 5+ years…and they were really nice to me and tried to reassure me that I was ok and it was just one floor and they were right…it was over in literally 5 seconds

they helped me get into my bed and they came till about 11 to check on me and then haven’t till 7:30 when I had breakfast

I was dizzy and drowsy all night and one of the nurses gave me a cola and some biscuits and felt better but didn’t sleep an awful lot

the doctor and anaesthetist came to see me in the morning to ask if everything is ok and gave me painkillers and antibiotics and left within a minute

I was discharged at 9:30 and was home by 11

All in all there could have been a better service considering you could stay in fucking HILTONS Hotel for £500/night and after reading how nice and friendly the staff are I was left really confused by it all

Maybe they re nice every other Wednesday and I got the bad one but I had such high expectations and most of them were just plain ignorant and careless

Did anyone else experience any of this/part of this or was it just me? either bad luck or they disliked me?

i thort the lady at reception was fairly rude and abrupt at highgate when i went in, but other than that they were fairly nice. wouldnt say all of the staff were great but other than the receptionist i would class them as rude. i did feel like i was being told off at primary school once or twice when i was having my pictures taken as his direction of where i should stand wasnt that good and i got the ‘wrong angle’ but other than that i had a pretty good experience. sorry to hear that it wasnt as great for u tho hun. at least you have wonderful boobies now (you dont get that for £500 a night at the hilton!) xxx

Hiya, your not the only one, the highgate nurses obviously have some sort of attitude problem, i was so dissapointed with it, Was expecting to have nurses that were really freindly and couldn’t do enough for you. There was a few nice ones but most just seemed like they hated their job and just wanted to get you done so they could get home.

I felt like absolute crap !! couldn’t even go to the toilet on my own coz i couldn’t take my trousers off..it was horrible but I think the worst is gone

I’m still not fully recovered yet now..I get tired very easily and they still hurt

omg blesss u! thats crazy tht ur still feelin crap ahh hun sorry hate 2 say it but im fineee! got measured 2day and im a 34 f!!! i loveeeee my boobs and the scars r almost gne alredy seriously im like a fast fast healer!! now im finkin wt nxt 2 get lol!! xxxxxxxx
