*if you have bought any bio oil/cocoa butter u shud prob already be using these to prepare your skin and reduce the risk of stretch marks etc duno what else really, ill just be making sure ive no nail polish on really

*slippers, dressing gown, over night stuff (even if your a day case-just incase) something to read, probs a camera or ccamera phone if u wana take pics of the new additions, few people say a large cup for water as they only give you a small one when your there and you dont wana keep getting up loads, throat sweets, your bra if youve been advised to wear one, comfy clothes to go home in with a zip or button up top, v-pillow if you have one -not sure if i can think of anything else lol

*think you should prob buy some kind of constipation tablets, senokot maybe. baby wipes to for when you cant shower. shouldnt use deodrant so maybe a roll on underarm.

    hope this helps xxx

Thanks Leanne, lots of things I’ve never even considered… Large cup, easy on clothes! Cocoa butter. V pillow that was always good when breast feeding ;-) well all Sounds like a good reason to go shopping! :-)

Woo.. Constipation tablets.. Really good advice. Actually I was discussing this with a friend of mine who agreed that she was pretty backed up after the operation too, at least for 3-4 days.. a consequence I believe of the GA and medication they put you on, as I am usually very regular. Believe me, I was thankful for the interruption to my ‘cycle’ *ahem*

At Highgate they provide a large jug of cooled lemon water which should be enough to sustain you.. You should be fine with the glasses they provide as long as you have a dutiful helper to pour your water for you :)

They’re also pretty good at providing meals for whoever you are with as well, so don’t be afraid to ask.

Oh! And if you’re getting taped up, get some sudocream, which is really cheap and comes in a grey tub with a white label and red writing.. it’s an anti-septic healing cream. If you have sensitive skin like me, the tape will leave rashes on your chest but the sudocream should fix it straight up.

After my tapes were removed from my scars, I started applying it over the scars just to ensure that any underlying nasties were zapped up and my scars are healing beautifully.
