    Seeing the nurse again today, hoping she says I can go in the shower but don’t think she’s going to :(

    I had to wait three weeks too and then I was given wash proof dressings! What’s the situ? How are your stitches?

    Got steri strips on at the mo and the left looks fine, but the right looks like it’s still got some crustiness under my nipple at the join the the vertical scar, hoping when the steris come off it will look better. My boobs are in desperate need of a proper wash, they’re full of dry skin, not a good look ha ha. How long before you put moisturiser on them? (around the scars of course) Xx

    That’s strange. Some of mine r, still got a big scab cos of the infection, bet that’s driving u mad. Rub some cream on em now Hun, bet they feel awful, mine were dry like that it made my boobs feel manky! Good luck with tday xxx

    Oh well fingers crossed today is the day! Went back to work on friday and love coming home and jumping in the shower, 3 12 1/2 shifts has defo made them feel manky, baby wipes just don’t cut it ha ha. Oo I might put some moisturiser on now :) Thanks Amanda Xx

    There comes a point when the shower is helpful to healing rather than a hinderance. not showering will likely cause infections now. Deffo use cream now. At your stage I hAd dryness and started to get very bad spots I looked awful. I’m hoping your nurse says shower today!!! Then everything gets better. Watch for undissolved stitches tho. They are little b@stards! Caused me oozing holes and green pus coming out. Really nasty. Went on for weeks!!!!!

    Thats what I’ve been thinking anchovie, I’m a nurse and it’s taking all my strengh not to go against their advice, they need a damn good wash! I’ve got spots, and think I’ve got one of those holes you’re talking about, it’s those daft bloody stitches! Do you just leave your scars bare now of still wear steris? Xx

    Woo hoo I’m allowed a shower! Still got a few raw bits but got Streisand-strips to put on when I get out :) Cant wait! Xx

    That’s great news. Watch the stitch infections very closely. The threads need to come out but poking at them can aggravate things. Be very attentive to them. I think oil makes them worse. Leave them as dry as possible after cleaning. I used diluted tcp to dab my infections. Then left them dry if possible ? It’s all so precarious;-( good luck x

    I was naughty, I sterilised scissors n tweezers n pulled n cut my stitches wen they were poking out. Little bastards left little leaking holes but they’re healing now. I’ve still got spots in-between my babs. Still in need of a rite good scrub. Can soak in bath now, roll on tmrw! N glad u can shower now! N do wat u think is best, u no ur own body Nicdev xxx

    Thanks Anchovie and Amanda :). I’m so tempted to pick at the scabby bit (sorry to sound awful) but not going to cos know it will affect the overall look of my scars. My shower was amazing, how ive missed the feel of running water ha ha. I’ll keep an eye for emerging stitches, think I may have one. Feel like they’re shrinking loads now, hope it doesn’t continue :( Xx
