hi im 3 weeks post op, noticed today that my left boob feels really hard compared to the right one and tight to my chest. havent got much pain just tenseness with the underarm muscle. the left breast is also now higher than the right when it was the other way round. do you think i should be worried or have i prob just over done it round the house with kids etc?
would be grateful for and replies cos im feeling quite worried now
It sounds like you might have capsular contraction. I would advise that you ring the emergency number straight away. The number is 0845 270 2173, might not be the right one for your area however she may be able to give you the correct one. Good luck

thanks wiggle i will call them in the morning. has anyone ever had capsular contracture, if so what were your symptoms?? thanks.
gemma,I’ll be 3 weeks post op on friday and my right breast is still harder and higher than my left although have put that down to being right handed. I’m sure it’s just the muscles relaxing and your boobs settling down. I had unders, did you? Let me know what they say when you call anyway as best to be on the safe side!
hi neeny i had 525cc unders. the left breast feels so weird, really tight and swollen i can feel a tiny pea like lump as well cant be right. it was swollen to start with after surgery but had gone down to swell up again today
like i said it may be just the changes your boobs/muscles are going through although def give the nurse or emergency number a ring to be on the safe side. let me know what they say and if you’re that worried, i’d ring them tonight. fingers crossed for you hun, hopefully your just paranoid and everythings fine!! x
Am two weeks post op,and there are times my boobs are fine and sometimes they become hard, I think its part of the process of the silicone settlin into the space its creating. I do not think you have cc, call the ER number, they are on 24/7, cos if you r too worried ur blood pressure could go up, that happened to me. She would put your mind to rest. All the best..
im 3 weeks post op. And mine go stiff wen i do 2 much. I wouldn’t panick. Im pretty sure cc is wen ur own body tissue forms 2 much and 2 tight round the implant causing the implant 2 go rock solid. Only bout 1% get it and im sure its 2 early 4 that. I wud just give ur pc a call. But dnt 4 get they can take up 2 a year 2 soften. Look after yourself and dnt worry. xx
ooh girlies i was right to be concerned. i woke up 5am thurs morning in agony!! had pains shooting down my arm, back, left breast was killing me, as well as being rock hard with a hard mass going upwards above the implant. called the emergency number about 5.30 was told to put frozen peas on it take a paractamol and go back to bed and they would call me later in the day, very helpfull i think not!
i suffered until 7am and woke my partner and told him he had to take me to hospital. i got there for about 8am and was there till about 12.30 for them to tell me to go back to the clinic as it was really their responsibility not the nhs! im sure you can imagine how happy i was feeling at that time, especially since i had not received a call from nurse to see how i was either.
The hospital called the clinic and old them they had to see me that day, briefly outlined my symptoms, i also had a temperature so the hospital were quite concerned. in fairness the clinic called me within 5 mins and quickly arranged for me to make an appointment at 2pm with the surgeon.
i went, was examined and told i had a haematoma (mass of bleeding) which would need to be operated on to be removed. they would have to do this by removing the implant, removing the haematoma then if they could see an infection i could not have the implant back in, would be left with 1 boob for 3-4 months until the infection had cleared. i cried my eyes out!
luckily for me there was no infection the op was sucessfull and no way near as painfull as the first time round. i came home yesterday and feel ok, just taking it really easy. apparently it was caused by a trauma to my chest but i cannot pinpoint anything like that happening. the hospital staff were so kind and helpfull, the surgeon was too, and aftercare have called lots to see how i am.
im just so happy its all resolved and im healing, thanks girls for your advice x
