Hi girls I just thought I’d post my little story of how my surgery went yesterday!
I had an early admission time of 7.30am so left at 4am as I’m quite far away from the fitzroy and wanted to allow plenty of time.
Got to Fitzroy at 7.15 and went & sat in reception. Shortly after a nurse came to get me and took me to my room. She said they were super busy and I’d be sharing with another patient but you have a curtain around so it’s still private.
I was second on the list and after seeing the nurse, anesthetist, Mr Mashaddi .. I got taken to theatre at 10.30. The room was much bigger than I was expecting and all the nurses were so lovely. Cannula put in, I got told to take some deep breathes and I could feel my right shoulder go cold, my legs went a bit fuzzy and I got a funny taste in my mouth..
next thing I knew I was in recovery with a nurse by my side asking if I’m ok. First thing I said was the awful taste in my mouth and she said it was completely normal. My legs were shaking too (I wasn’t cold) and this is also a normal side effect of the anaesthetic. I got wheeled back to my room at about 12.30 and asked to shuffle onto my bed which was absolutely fine. After about 5 mins my partner came in and asked how I was feeling etc. No pain at all just felt like my ribs were super bruised.
Nurse came in after a while and asked if I needed any pain relief, but I was just desperate for the loo! So she helped me up and I did feel a little dizzy when I first stood up but it soon passed. She later then brought me tea and toast which I couldn’t wait to eat as I was STARVING! However, my mouth was SO dry.. no matter how much I drunk that I ended up taking a sip of tea with every mouthful of toast to make sure it went down.
Nurse came in about every half hour to take obs and make sure I was ok pain wise. Mr mashaddi then came in about 3.30 to tell me surgery went really well, how pleased he was with my boobs and I was all ok to go home. The doctor then came to give me some pain relief and antibiotics to take home and the nurse came to put my bra on.
The whole day was super and I am really pleased with how my boobs are looking already!
Took this photo a couple of hours ago, so 1 day post op. Can’t wait to get the strapping off next week to see how they really look.
I highly recommend Mr mashaddi to any girls researching! He was lovely, kind and really put me at ease!
