Found it really helpful reading other people’s stories so here’s mine.
Ok so I was petrified about the thought of being put under debated cancelling the whole thing so many times was so worried, booked in at fitzroy and I live near Southampton so a good 2 hours away but I allowed 3 and a half to get there as London roads are a nightmare and I parked in the clipstone car park which is two minutes walk away. £28 for 9 hours I paid!!! But still that’s just London. Arrived at 9.15 to hospital but they were ready for me despite being early was sat in my scrubs by 9.45 with the paper knickers, had my nurse come round and another man with a menu for food to eat afterwards both of whom were lovely. Done blood pressure and a urine sample pregnancy test and all the rest of it. Then saw dr. Singh pre op pics get drawn on explain the procedure any questions answered very reassuring. I have never had general anaesthetic before so the prospect of that really scared me. Had the anaesthetist come round tell me about that ask for allergies etc. had my two friends with me and we all had a laugh to try and put me at ease, opted to gave numbing cream for the drip as I am a baby when it comes to needles so had that by 11 then 12.10 they came and got me to go up to be put under. The woman helping the anaesthetist was lovely could see I was scared so held my hand. I am such a wimp !!!! But they gave me something that made me feel drunk to start with (loved it) then knocked me out. Woke up feeling amazing talkin a load of rubbish but very funny. Felt like the best sleep iv ever had. Got back to my room for about just before 2 felt woozy but nothing bad was starving so had my tomato soup a d cheese sarnie abut 2.30. Slight ache but nothing unbearable at all. Felt fantastic considering. Wanted to leave I felt so good so after that I walked around got dressed had a good look at my boobs!! Very pleased they r swollen but they look great the adhesive bandage is annoying but doctor Singh swears by it I guess he is the expert lol. Was dressed and ready to leave by 4 after they came round and explained my tablets I was discharged and home by 7. I would do it all again tomorrow and this is coming from a complete wimp so ladies u have NOTHING to worry about I can promise u hope this helps xxxx
