Hey
.. quick question..
I am a manchester patient & had Mr Traynor for my op.
i had my 7 day post op appointment last wednesday in Leeds and the nurse said to me to book a 6 week chck up with Mr Traynor. So when i went downstairs to the receptionist and advised need to book this she said that he doesn’t work from this office but i dont need a 6 wk one with him anyways!?
She said you only have a 12 wk one for him to sign you off and the 6 wk one is with the nurse.
Confused now as been told two different things.
If i do have to see him then i dont mind going to manchester to do that.
And when i just had my op he came in to see me and said ‘see you in a few weeks’ as in would be soon? Can anyone advise what i need to do, or whats true? xx
exact same thing with me hun i was under the impression i would be seeing him at 6 weeks, but its the nurse. n he sed that to me too lol so i travel 40 mins there for 5 mins for her to say yeah ur healing fine u can buy a bra now. pointless if u ask me lol
I don’t think it’s too important hun, some people have it with the nurse and some with the surgeon. I was supposed to have my surgeon at six weeks which was yesterday but they didn’t have an appointment for me until some time in June! I asked if that was ok as would be three months po and she said it was fine and was only to sign me off anyway xx
and ive seen on here that other people have seen there surgeon at 6 weeks
this is what my oc said to me when i emailed about my appointment being at 7 weeks and i tried to bring it forward a week, she hasnt replied after this so ive no idea
‘Your 6 week check is with the nurse usually but I will double check who your appointment is scheduled for you tomorrow.
Your six week check is to ensure you are healing well and have no concerns and then you get the go ahead to stop wearing your sports bra and go out and get measured and also your post op photos for your file, you typically see Mr Traynor again at 12 weeks post op, however if you had any concerns this can be brought forward as generally at 12 weeks you will be seeing more of the finished result.’ x
yeah thats what she said to me, she said you dont need to see the surgeon unless you have concerns!
Ahh well i’ll just go see the nurse then, nothing she won’t tell me that Mr T wouldnt anyways i suppose.
i can’t wait for that day i get told i can wear proper bras again! eeeeee
thanks girls.. i really wasn’t sure as i’ve been told two different things xx
Hi Girls. Ok, im confused!
I saw my nurse at my 1 week appointment (this was just to make sure scars were healing ok and to take dressings off), then was told by her I need to see my surgeon at 6 weeks which will be a half hour appointment making sure everything is the way it should be etc!
When I booked they did manage to find me an appointment in my 6th week, however if I couldn’t of done that the next one was end of June (which means I would of been 10 weeks post op so It obviously isn’t essential to see surgeon at 6 weeks on the dot! But I would still make sure you got to see the surgeon one one or the other
xxx
Yeh looks like I’m in the same situation then .. But if u have it at 10 wks u may as well wait till 12 and see him then ha xx
Im having my ‘6 week check’ at 4 1/2 weeks….. is this a good or bad thing?? xx
Im 7 wks post op…u only have ur 6 wk check with surgeon if hes in that area at the time of ur 6 wks check. Uve got to understand he cud be most likely doin ops! I also had traynor n saw the nurse for my post op check at 7 days n then 6 wks. I will be seeing mr traynor at my 3 mth post op check where he will discharge me x
