6 weeks incision partially reopened Started by: princess76

    So my mum who is a nurse had a look at my scars and said it looked a bit red, and on one side the corner of the incision has reopened. I have been so careful and now it’s taped up with a butterfly stitch and I can’t get it wet as its weeping but she said its not infected. Haven’t got time to go back to MYA and I start new job next week, its very physical and now I’m worried that it’s not going to heal properly if it’s done this after 6 wks. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Well im 3 weeks PO monday hun and one of my incisions is still taking time healing so god knows when I will be back to normal. seems strange that yours healed and then reopened hun, but take it easy as they told me have to be carful not to lift anything still till heals properly xxx

    Thanks hon, I have no idea if it was like that before or has just happened, if it was like that before tho then I don’t know why it wast noticed at my 4 wk check! I’ve not been working or gym or anything, so worried now as I dont have any healing time left!! Just when you think you’re all done eh?! I’ve got an appointment on Tuesday x

    Yeah thank god for my mum anchovie! I woulnt have notied cos mu boobs dont move enough yet to see them! Let’s hope we both get better soon. Craig’s have you still got the steri strips on the incisions?

    Wat a ******* hun. Jus be careful now till u go.

    I’m 8-9 weeks & I’ve jus come across black patches with big yellow spots, ******* stitches again. Now got 3 more holes on my boobs. Great! xxx

    Oh no, will they heal up? Just when you think you’re out of the woods something else pops up. Are you having to stop using the bio oil and stuff? I’ve stopped my scar sheets for now. Have you got another appointment to see them?

    Be careful girls I have got a nasty scar on my nipp from the blasted dissolvable stitch issues I had. I now wish I’d just travelled to the surgery. I didn’t go because it was two hours away and now I have a noticeable scar which distorts my nipp. I’ll put a picture up it’s very depressing. Get anti biotic. Travel if you have to but look after those stitches xxxx

    No appointment till April now. She offered to do scar revision if my scars don’t sort them selves out anyway. At this rate She’l b doin the full op again. The outline of my nipples r a mess!xxx

    Hmm I don’t know. I have a date er I mean a review with Mario next week so if I can stop staring into his eyes and concentrate I’ll ask there

    Yeah princess I still have steri strip on both boobs and waterfroof dressing over the one not healed properly, the nurse said I would be ok to shower but to take it easy and that she is convinced It will be healed by Wed when I go back so fingers crossed its just one little bit being stubborn. I feel for ya hun its just a constant worry xxx

    dont worry AT ALL, same thing happened to me and it healed in no time :)

    MYA nurses are amazing, i couldnt be happier with the way they have treated me xxx

    Was that around 6 wks as well? How long did it take to close up? It’s looking like its infected now, boo!

    Been to see nurse, who was great, the hole is closing up and there’s no major infection, so the healing is going ok thankfully. However, I can’t use any scar sheets or bio oil on them, and I have to wait until January before I can go back to the gym or wear underwire bra. All in all I am happy, she said work shouldn’t be a problem but to not go out of my way to do strenuous activities. Thank god it’s closing up!

    Glad you’ve been given the all clear :-) It’s a shame you can’t use anything for a month but the time will soon pass. Good excuse not to do any exercise tho :-) x

    I’m gonna celebrate with a McDonalds I think! If I can’t exercise I might as well give myself something to aim towards in the new year!
