6days post op is it normal ? Started by: lisa

    Hiya just wandered if it was normal to still feel some pain in just one boob , my right one is healing really well but the left is a lot more swelled and tender to touch still looks like its in my armpit and I have to take nurofen still because of it a couple of days ago they both seemed to be settling but now this one even hurts when I cough it doesn’t feel hot and here’s no sign of weeping ect , just wandered iff it’s being a lot slower than the other or should I worry 6 days on ?? Thanks x

    Don’t worry at all!! Mention it to your nurse when you go to your post op but it is completely normal! They are separate wounds so will heal differently! Often if you are right handed then your left will be a little slower too and visa versa as you are naturally gonna do more with that side rather than the other! My nurse told me also that it may just be that it was a bit tougher to get that implant in! Sounds like you are healing well, don’t forget what you put your body through and how it must be freaking out a little 😉 I was told to go up a bra size to accommodate the swelling as it goes up and down through the day, take ibuprofen then two hour later paracetamol and so on throughout the day and most importantly not to stress!! They take a few weeks to settle so as long as you aren’t seeing weeping, feeling fever, unusual shape, discolouration of the skin then generally it is absolutely nothing but your body healing! Give it a week or so and it will be feeling better!! Xxx

    Oh thanks so much holly , it’s so hard to know whats ok / normal xx…….I think ill just see what the nurse says on Monday then
