Well as you will probably remember reading in my last post, my op (due 13th Dec) was cancelled a few weeks ago due to the surgeon needing an op herself so am now waiting until February…

Three weeks later, I still haven’t had any written confirmation of the new date or (most importantly to me) an apology. Although the PC was apologetic on the phone, I would have thought the apology would have been followed up in writing with confirmation of the new date??

I was due to see the surgeon on 26th Nov and I never received the letter of confirmation of that meeting… the PC said that that meeting was still on and then I was left a voicemail later the same day to say that the surgeon is now operating that day but “as there is plenty of time now between now and the op there isn’t any rush”. That meeting was to discuss exactly what I am having done – I would like to know sooner rather than later!!

I am probably being a bit pathetic but when you are preparing yourself mentally for something you want so much, and then you are told you have to wait another three months, I would expect a little sympathy, but from the sounds on it on here it looks like ops are cancelled quite regularly and it must be just “one of those things” if you’re a PC… not to the ordinary person though who is so upset when it is cancelled.

    Rant over. Sorry.

Awww bless you honey. No it must be awfull. I think I know who your surgeon is as mine has cancelled my 6 wk check for the same reason. She is very good if it is the same person and worth the wait. Hopefully Mya will sort it out for you. But I agree you just want to know what you can have or need. Good luck xx
