a traumatic half an hour!

hi girls,

i’ve literally just had the most emotional half an hour of my life! im 4 days post op with the big horrible mr kazzazi tape round my boobs. it’d been irritating me so much i trimmed a tiny v-section off the top of it which helped so much but to my horror it revealed this horrible area on my skin where it must have been pulled taught and a string-like section was raised and so visably obvious i was absolutely distraught.

basically just wanting to know if anyone else had experienced this string-like raised bit? since finding it, it has actually settled slightly and is much less obvious but don’t know if this is something im gunna have to learn to live with or if im just a bit patient it will go away!

It will go away hun,its the pressure of the tape on your soft skin,i had one right across my nipple,my nipple looked like it had been sliced and was smiling at me,i was scared to death mailed a pic to my pc and she said it was the pressure of the tape it will massage out and it did,lol,dont worry hun,xxx

oh my lord thank you so much tina i was having such a stress you would not believe! it was just in such an obvious place i was worried id be stuck with it forever! hopefully after friday when im released everything will be looking fine thankyou xxx

It must have been a shock for you,I ran screaming to my neighbour saying omg,my boob is deformed,we laughed so much afterwards,xxxxyou feel so lucky that everything has run smoothly,so I think in the back of your mind your thinking something may go wrong,but it wont you be fine hun,panic over,xxxxx

Hey hun, I pulled off a bit of my tape on day 3 and I had a huge blister from where the skin was pulled taught and reacted with the tape (you can see the blister in my early pics). After a week or so it scabbed over and healed up. Was told to remove all the tape when I rang the nurse though.

Is it just a skin thing or deeper chick? It’s such a relief to get that tape off I’ll tell ya!!xx

oh that sounds awful! i havent blistered or anything thankfully, its just a skin thing, a small raised line, and i’ve got 2 down the center of my chest which is where the skin feels most tight. i rang the nurse straight away cos i was so paniced but to be honest she wasn’t very helpful, just told me she cudnt tell what it is without seeing me.

its not painful and over the past hour or 2 its pretty much settled flat so i think i will do my best to leave the tape on until friday at my week post op, however much i hate the dam stuff! xxx

Hey i’m with you on that one Liv, only 2 days PO and hating this damn tape! Feels so restrictive I’m sure like Tina said it’s just the pressure from the tape xx
