Yeah, they give you an information pack explaining everything; no acrylic nails, make up, nail polish, fake tan, fake eyelashes, moisturiser…eau natural lol

My op is in 4 days and I’m waiting until the last minute to part with my acrylic nails :( I’ve had them non stop since I was 13 and never had them off for more than a few hours lol xxx

It’s partly because you get LOADS of bacteria under acrylic nails, and they want to reduce the risk of infection as much as possible. Also they put some sensor thing on your index finger to monitor you during surgery and if you have acrylics on it can give an inaccurate/wrong reading

Well I’m looking at my info pack now and it doesn’t say they won’t operate but I wouldn’t risk it hun, it says in massive letters to remove them lol xx

Yes they have to go :( and nail varnish, so you can’t even make them look pretty. I took mine off a week before my op, to let my nails breath, but I ended up buying the glue on things as I couldn’t hack it, and I just picked them off the night before and replaced them the night back in my hotel room, as I’ve had nails for years, I couldn’t even text without them on any more xx

The bacteria thing is true, there’s more under a nail then is on your toilet seat (a sharp lesson for the biters out there) xx

I we’re told that haha I used bite my nails as a kid we’re told the toilet seat thing not bit them and had lovely nails since lol silly that they keep snapping so stick to acrylics and falsies haha x
