Actually going mental!

5weeks PO and still can’t shower, now being put on anti biotics, feel like I cld kill someone!!!!!!

Oh Nitemare! Y can u not shower? I had infections that took 5 weeks to clear but I was allowed showers?!xxx

oh no do you have an infection?? how horrible for you, how long do you have to wait?? try to stay positive easier said then done i no but will be worhh it. big hugs xxxx

Well at 2weeks po I was told I cld shower, which I did for about a week before I started getting some kind of leakage. So I stopped showering case it was my skin getting too wet. Went to see nurse at week4 and she just said that mayb I wasn’t letting them dry enough and redressed them and told me to keep dressings on for a week and not shower. Went back today and there’s not much improvement so been redressed AGAIN and I need to pick up some anti biotic tomorrow.

Dreading my 6week check now. If I get told I can’t go gym yet or can’t wear a proper bra I might actually lose it lol.

Were u on anti biotics for 5 weeks? I’ve only been prescribed 5days and she said it WILL clear up!

I think I must have infection. Last week my nurse never said it was but this week she said infection and pus and I was like . Wish I could have been given medicine when I went last week, could have been better by nw!

I had 3 lots of antibiotics, it was horrendous I hated it. I could still shower tho which was good. Jus got messy scars now which isn’t good but my surgeons gonna fix the scars.xxx

Sounds like an infection hun, getting antibiotics and keeping it dry will clear it up, good luck with it

Do you remember the name of them Amanda? I’m wondering if they’re the same as the ones I had from the hospital. Did you drink at all either? I’m going out this weekend for the first time in two months and it’s just TYPICAL I’ve been prescribed anti biotics. Pretty sure the alcohol/antibiotic thing is a myth for most types tho. I could just start the course on Sunday instead of tomoro. I don’t even wanna go out now but I can’t really flake out! What are your scars like now then?

theres only a few antibiotics you cant drink on, as they get absorbed through your liver, but i would google the name of yours to make sure

iv been on 6 different types since dec, and only one was the no drinking ones (not all because of my op) xx

I had an infection due to a knot from the stiches, mine started at 4 weeks, took 10 days to clear and dry out, had a messy scar like Amanda, I had Eurythmamycin or something like that, cleared it up quickly. I have psoriasis which makes healing a pain, had an uplift last week and havent dared a peek, dont want to know yet.

I’ll pick them up tomoro. If they’re the same ones then they should be ok. I googled that earlier lol.

Argh if I’m only prescribed 5 days I’m scared it won’t work . This is LONG. Maybe mine is only mild. My op was an uplift karina, just seemed to start going wrong at 3/4weeks. I’m so frustrated! Can’t even go to the gym to relieve it!

sorry I had 5 days of antib’s and it was totally dry at 10 days.

Makes me think twice about getting anything else done! I’m actually like fuming that I can’t shower, the rage is ridiculous lol. I think the healing process has taken its toll on my brain. I just wanna get back to the gym and wash properly and wear a normal bra!

I was told that showering was crucial after a few weeks to AVOID infection. I had some stubborn dissolving stitches that caused holes and infections but showering wasn’t the problem the problem was the stupid stitches and the idiot nurse who didt get them out properly when I asked her too. She then soaked them in iodine which made them soggy and more infected. To this day I have a massive scar on my nipple where it has not healed well

I haven’t had a shower since 14th jan! I have to say tho, my nurse is so lovely and she’s been great. I’m just annoyed at the situation. I’ve got problems with both boobs in 3 different places. Sick of going backwards and forwards to London as well, costs me £12 to get there and back for a 10 minute appt, but takes 3 hours out of my day!
